Does this mean if future releases have the shoulders fixed... an in box misassembled Galvatron would be considered a First edition and worth more money?

Eh, I think it'll go the other way, actually. A Selects-type release with correct assembly, no battle-damage, and a different shade of purple would become the more desirable version, so you'll be able to get this current version fairly cheaply and easily.

People still argue the issue, but POTP (and later, Amazon's exclusive repaint) Punch/Counterpunch has misassembled shoulders and Hasbro has never fixed them. I can't imagine they'll fix Galvatron, either. I wouldn't bank on one version being worth more than another down the road. Even if they do happen to fix it, I still wouldn't bank on it.

Oof. I was firmly in the “cOLoR wHo CaReS” camp but... that blue-purple looks so good.

Not so much as to perfectly match it, but as the toy deco is the closest thing to that, here you go from earlier in the thread.

    Proper nice.

Seeing as this is all but confirmed, can't wait.

Honestly, I was fine with the original shoulder height and still am. He appeared many times with shoulders that look that low. And I'm likewise fine with forward facing pins, so if it does bother me in hand, I'm not going to risk damaging him to conceal them personally. Small (to me) things like this simply don't bug me. Glad there's a viable fix (and probably others on the way) though for those who do feel the need.

I'm fine with the colour we got, but I will say having Galvatron be slightly bluer creates a pleasing gradient across the three.

It does make me kind of wonder if I should wait for a possible redeco. I'm already committed to a toy/Marvel deco, and I'm not sure I need three Galvatrons.

I didn’t notice it till it was pointed out out to me. I have not opened him yet been super busy... now that I know the sculpted details are supposed to be down(armpit wires) I will more than likely rotate for some poses. I’m NOT prying on him till (if)I have 2.

Same boat. The toy/Marvel deco is my most anticipated colour scheme. A bluer, more movie themed hue would be the ideal for my 'toon deco Galvatron.

At this point the Kingdom release feels like a placeholder.

Kingdom sits on the Toon shelf
The marvel shelf has no placeholders...
There is only One Galvatron for the Marvel shelf... his place is reserved.

You can never have enough Galvatrons. The world needs more Galvatron.

I'm seriously not a fan of the Battle damage paint, but I love the figure itself. The figure looks cool, but the scratchy paint diminishes it and makes it look old and beat up. He was always shiny in the movie / cartoon because he was newly created and he was so powerful and practically invulnerable. I mean, bathing in a lava pit for a lengthy period of time barely phased him. Just fried his sanity circuits.

Anyway, Figure good... battle damage paint idea bad.

Yeah, that's the example I was thinking of! I remember there being more instances of Hasbro doubling down on missasembly in later releases.

Guess we won't know for sure until we actually see the repaints, but I'm keeping my expectations low.
Them using the incorrect head on T-Wrecks also doesn't exactly inspire confidence :p

I have the 2017 reissue of the 2007 movie Leader Optimus and he still has his biceps backwards after 10 years.

I started to try the shoulder fix for Galvatron, but instantly got a huge stress mark and decided not to do it.
