That’s a good thing. I will own both I have a Cartoon and a comic shelf. One for each. For those that don’t need both. A choice will have to me made.

Is the rumor that the trans-scan Galvatron (rumor/leak) is being replaced with Straxus (rumor/leak). Or are they separate?

Galvatron gets a toy-color repaint and a wire-frame repaint while I'm still here waiting for JUST ONE of the many Siege Megatron repaints to be in Marvel colors. Why must Hasbro mock me like this?

 

I'd rather have Soundwave in Marvel colors than Megatron.

 

I mean, if they're targetmasters then they kinda should have their partners. Ideally, at least. It's also a Selects offering so it doesn't need to adhere strictly to the deluxe-voyager-etc format. Making Artfire a voyager and battlemaster two-pack would be fine.

It would probably be less annoying if the battlemasters had actually been mostly targetmasters instead of devoting only 2.5 molds to them so that the targetmaster fans could at least have the partners stocked and ready. A Selects multipack would've been great.

Watch them sell a Galvatron in Marvel Megatron colours.

It'd be the same price regardless though. It's better to have things available at retail (even if separately) than it would be to lock bundled packs as store exclusives (and thus far every multipack with battlemasters have been store exclusives).

 

Will prob turn something into a mini throne for him to chill on in a back corner of a bookshelf.

 

Many modern day toys of 80s characters don't have the original gimmick their toy had.

Are the modern Runabout and Runamuck bad toys because they don't have the pull-back auto-transformation gimmick of the original?

If Artfire doesn't come with a Targetmaster companion, then it would probably be sold separately. Size classes are a thing, and a Targetmaster companion may push the pack above the size class they want to do.

 

There's a distinct difference between an integrated gimmick that risks compromising the core figure and a gimmick accessory that by all measures won't be a detriment in any way.

Also we literally just had an entire trilogy of toys with gimmicks. Artfire and Stepper are known pretty much only for their Targetmaster status, and they're exclusives.

What's next, transformation as an optional gimmick? Oh wait, ER Arcee and SG Megatron already phone that in.

 

I'd rather get Artfire as soon as possible and not have to wait until they have a Voyager + Battle Master bundle slot available.

Artfire's companion Nightstick can be recreated by using Battle Master Fracas as Nightstick is identical to Fracas, or if you prefer a more G1 accurate Japanese Nightstick (or G1 Fracas), you can combine the arms of Aimless, the legs of Caliburst and the torso of Blowpipe.

 

There are only two and a half Targetmaster molds from Siege that look like traditional Targetmasters. I suppose they could reuse Rung, but the sculpting is so distinct I feel like it would look weird unless they made a new torso at least. I've resigned myself to not getting a new Stepper and just using the United figure, and taking United Artfire's Targetmasters and giving them to the Selects one when it comes out.

I just wish we could get a uniquely molded Fracas. Outside of most of the Double Targetmasters that's the only one missing for those who got the Takara ones.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Hasbro will eventually release a “clean” version of this guy with more animation-accurate paint apps in their Netflix line...

 

Except Wave 3 is the end of the line already?
