You don't support 3P but support greedy official? You sheep!
in all honesty ,NewAge did a good galvatron , But I see no point paying the same amount $54 to $60 for a legends size figure , even if they are engineered well.

Nailed it, that’s exactly how I saw it.

I’d love to see a clear transformation video and how much of a difference having the pinned shoulder pieces facing forward makes in robot mode. Won’t be much longer I imagine until we see this.

Those are 2 entirely different markets though and I don’t see the need to continue official vs 3p debates in the news/rumors figure every time there’s any news on an official figure. What 3p fans and official fans share in common is that 3p fans think it’s a joke to pay the asking price for official Transformers while fans of official Transformers think it’s a joke to pay the asking price for 3p Transformers. Other then that you’ll be hard pressed to get both parties to align on the same page.

Furthermore most fans that did look forward to this Galvatron and ended up underwhelmed(like me for example), don’t really collect 3p Legends. So the price comparison wouldn’t even be a factor to someone like me. I think we can all agree that we’d LOVE to pay $30 voyager prices for this thing. $50 for a WFC leader can be a tough justification on its own, not compared to anything else. It’s down to perceived value. I pay up(if I like the design) since I don’t want to be paying late tax prices down the mine. Physically in robot mode, yes it looks like a figure that might not justify $50(LOOKS alone, not the build quality/construction/parts count argument which I totally understand given that I’ve brought that up before). Will someone on the fence pay $50 to handle this for themselves to see if it’s worth it? I don’t know.

I’m being realistic with my personal expectations of this new Galvatron given that I’ve seen most of the new pics this week. I’m expecting something that will outright destroy the deluxe from 2008 and something better than the TR voyager(which I enjoyed except for the mask gimmick killing most of the neck swivel range). However, I’m not expecting this to be on par with an exponentially more expensive MP, 3P Legends or any other Japanese collector line figure with substantially lower production runs. If I did that I’d just be setting myself up for more disappointment. Furthermore, at best, I hope for this Galvatron to be on par with the leader figures I do like from WFC, like Astrotrain and Doubledealer.

Yeah I had the MS Seekers and even though they are better engineered than the Earthrise, they aren't nearly as much fun. Honestly it put me off legends entirely, sold them all shortly after ER hit. The recent Hasbro mainline figs have struck a great balance between collector peice and playable toy IMO, and this Galvatron looks to continue that trend. I can't help but think the questionnaire they did a few years ago has a lot to do with the improvements we've seen and I personally really appreciate it.

Yeah, just teasing you. New Galvy looks like he's been preping for the Olympia. But I think he wears it well. I don't mind him looking like he could dismantle Optimus with one arm. Animation accurate or not, that fits MY perception of Galvatron.

if you are satisfied with astrotrain and Doubledealer , then unless you are very VERY nitpicky , I cant think how you can pass galvatron.
Like , no , I only collect what is really good and on par to my liking of quality and engineer , and this Galvatron is just so , so good compare to every galvatron offering throughout the year. I hope you can get ahold of it and see for yourself because I see so many undeserved hate this gorgeous figure is receiving

Was there ever a conclusive photo or decision on the shoulders being turned backwards? Like the pin hole supposedly being backwards in all these shots?
Missed about a thousand pages I think.

Exactly. In my headcanon Galvatron is the most physically powerful with near limitless reserves and strongest of all the Transformers outside of a Titan. He literally has the strength to tear another Cybertronian in half with his bare hands. Thus I don't mind a bulky Galvatron.

Comes with a smirk! Ok, as long as I don't view him straight on, this is simply astounding and $50 well spent. Someone at Hasbro call me now for my cc info.

Y'know, really comparing this figure to the animation model, I think the proportions are thrown off not so much by the actual size of the body parts, but how small the hip/groin area appears due to the colouring. It looks pretty dang close to the animation model, with the hands stopping about the same height up the legs. If the torso was just a few millimetres thinner on each side, and the waist area was more pronounced, I doubt there'd be many complaints.

He really does look quite good once you really break down the actual proportions, just a bit wider at the shoulders.

Scale of production plays a huge factor into cost. Hasbro vastly out produces third party. They can do it cheaper than most anyone else, have the means and relationship with big box vendors to have them everywhere (as they should, it is their IP).

Not to mention that the fit and finish between the two is night and day. New Age stuff, despite the size, is premium. Most of their stuff is painted. No waffling or massive gaps. But despite all of that, the core design of New Age's offering is still better proportioned.

What did I say that was so offensive?

Hmm.... So far this is the best picture that I've seen of him. But it's 1 out of 7 pictures.

I'm going to be honest. I don't even like this version of Optimus in bot mode. Hell, it's legs look longer than Galvatron's. So if I would've lucked up and found him at Ollie's he would've remained in alt-mode and I would keep SIEGE Optimus in Bot since I wiped that bird poop off of him years ago. And maybe if Galvatron's pylons and shoulders could arch up a quarter inch more he'd be a lot better. But he still isn't worth 1 of my $50 Amazon or Target gift cards.

Playability is absolutely a good point. Hasbro has improved their designed lately while still catering to kids. I don't make any arguments against that when it comes to 3rd party Legends figures. Just that New Age, in particular to their Galvatron, did better with their proportions.

Might have to draw an example to explain but I think what throws off the look for me in robot mode is the chest. Looks like the angle at the top is too high up and this might be coupled with the torso being too tall. I dunno. Would shoulders with the pin side facing forward address this? I dunno. I don’t doubt that they might but I’m surprised that the few fans who have this and posted pics haven’t posted a pic like that.

Wondering the same thing. If it really made a difference, you’d think there would be photos by now.

I have been thinking this since the first pictures, but NA Galvatron's upper body is too small for his legs IMHO.
Fanstoys are the only ones who managed to make a Galvatron with perfect bot mode proprtions.
I'm not wild about the way Kingdom Galvatron looks, but I prefer his proportions to NA's offering.
