You aren't the only one. I've noticed with a few figures so far. Sideswipe being the most obvious. But they keep designing these figures with the legs too stubby, or the lower bodies proportioned weird. Kup has his body and arms right, but his legs don't quite match. Blurr's legs are a tiny bit off, besides being thin. Prime's abs feel squashed. Wheeljack has that combo gorilla arms with squat legs, which make him look worse.

Not sure if it's the same designer, but it just keeps happening. Galvatron feels like his upper body is too wide, but you nailed it. The lower half is, once again, mis-proportioned. That's what throws it off for a lot of us.

Same as everyone else, though, I'll have to see him in person.

I’m waiting until someone on YouTube gets him. That’ll provide a more accurate sense of what his proportions are like without all of this camera angle trickery.

The latest pictures don’t seem to show much camera trickery to me. So that’s why I’m not getting my hopes up. It might look better but I’m not expecting it to be dramatically better unless the copies we’ve seen are mistransformed.

    Who knows though.

As much as I like and want this Galvatron, there is something about it that does not match up with the War For Cybertron Series.

Janky proportion issues aside, he does feel like he's in keeping with the Studio Series 86 bots in terms of look. And I thought I heard a rumor that SS86 is, essentially, WFC overflow that got given its own imprint. So maybe it would've worked better if the lines were combined or if Galvatron (and by extension Cyclonus and probably the eventual Commander-class Rodimus) were SS86 releases instead of Kingdom.

I wonder how much of the controversy would be avoided if there was a proper line reveal like Toy Fair. This is the first new mold in a while, after all.

This was the pic that made me gleefully excited about this figure. (More than I already was)

Can't wait to get it and do some minor touch-up work and put him next to my other 86 movie figs.

I'm looking forward to this figure. It's good to have a screen accurate G1 Galvatron.

This image is one of the ones that I don't think looks so bad. He's still a bit on the wide side (I always felt like Galvatron was supposed to be taller and more slender than Megatron was) but from that angle the low shoulders don't stand out so much.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been as much blowback about the battle damage deco as I would've expected. I don't entirely mind it myself. Except for those big greasy looking brush swipes on his shins.

He looks to be about the right size I'd want at least.
Not a fan at all of the proportions, even if it's "accurate" it's a 3D object not a drawing and I think they needed to play with the proportions a bit more to get something that looked good. Also not a fan of the large arm treads, wish they could collapse in on themselves to be a bit smaller and I wish the cannon was either fully painted or not at all, clear orange looks good enough already and paint near the base just looks off.
And once again, god I hate how wide his chest is, he was a thick boy yes, but his shoulders typically weren't depicted as jutting out so far, really wish the pieces they were attached to could sink into the torso for a bit of a slimmer look.

I made a quick couple of modifications to one of the images just to see what the result would be. Apologies for the hatchet job in the editing.

    Here's the before picture, untouched.

    GalvyBase.jpg

and here he is with his shoulders placed higher and with his body made slightly skinnier (hence the narrower image):

That image of Galvatron with Magnus makes me pretty happy with him, honestly.

    Just gib me toy colors.

I hadn't seen alerts on this thread in a while.

Now I know why. Even the board itself gave up on this dumpster fire.

Maybe Galvatron’s proportions don’t bother me because I grew up collecting Bionicle. I’m used to robots with overly broad shoulders and arms that hang down to their knees.

It's fairly consistent with the rest of WFC where NEARLY everyone has a wider torso than their animation model aside from Optimus and Springer.

Expecting SS86 Gnaw to be a chunky boi.
