My best friend when he saw dinobot\'s raptor hands was like- either someone broke his hands or he wants someone to put nail polish on his fingers.    I wonder if they had to be like that for transformation. Although that could probably have easily been fixed with some articulation in the fingers but most probably that was out of the budge ( so third party hand definitely required) . Other than that both airazor and dinobot look great.

Hmm. Dinobot needs more copper and gold paint in bot mode. Perhaps there might be a shiny version fown the road like Cheetor's CG accurate dark metallic blue parts and green animal mode eyes.....

 

I wish they kept his thigh joints brown to play off the alt better. Also, the weird drooping raptor hands. I can deal with the oddly realistic dino head, but those hands leap out at me.

Airazor is pretty great.  For having her robot arms right there, she carries them in bird mode fine.

I'm actually fine with the beast mode and the chest. As I mentioned before, I really think they should have had the same contours on the top of the dino head to match the side panels better, but it's a an okay solution.

What I'm most disappointed about is the fact that they weren't able to cover up the sides and back but still included those blue pieces to emulate his ribs on the front. It just kinda ends up neither here nor there. Oh, and how they changed the leg joints from brown/grey to gold so they stand out horribly in dino mode. Like... why?

 

I love this Dinobot.

I made peace with the fact that they'd fake the chest, just because the unwrap-job that is the CGI model chest is purely impossible to do. Dinobot is one of those few characters that my pet peeves of faux parts and parts forming just take backseats if I want a good figure. Plus, I'm a bit more open to that whole thing for Beast Wars characters anyway (to a point, of course). Fake the chest, let his tail come off for the weapon like in the show. It's fine.

But then they did this engineering that incorporates the dino head into the chest. And those 'fake' panels on the sides, ACTUALLY form the back of the legs...making them parts of the beast mode. It's almost like...is it really fake if it's actually part of the alt mode? To me, it's an absolutely brilliant move, and while the dino mode isn't the best, it's certainly better than his prior incarnations. The focus here was always meant to be on the robot modes.

And man, that bot mode is smooth! The separations in the chest just feels more robotic, so it doesn't bother me one bit. I love the way everything comes together, and I can't wait for this one to release.

 

Man I wish Hasbro would release a missle pack similar to the one\'s on Airazor\'s arms.

There were 2 similar missles in one of the Construct-Bots pack (Soundwave?) that I\'ve been wanting to put on alot of figs, but there\'s only 2. 

 

NGL, I'm still not on board with the top of Dinobot's chest... Wish they could have handled the back bulge of the dino head and the
uneven chunks sticking up from the two side panels a bit better. It's obviously the best non-MP version of Dinobot we've ever gotten,
I just think it's a shame that they didn't try to tweak that just a bit more. Personally, I would have preferred a full faux chest.

 

Honestly, I'm just glad I'm able to walk into a Target and see Beast Wars characters on shelves.

 

I think Dinobot would work better without the fake-eyes. I'm all for faux-parts if it means screen accuracy but it just looks weird here. That said, super pumped for these two.

yeah it looks like someone snapped his wrist joint and completely deformed his legs. Ball joints at the wrist could have fixed the pronated wrist problem I think.

I bought my first beast wars kingdom !
i was so Disappointed in How small it was ! I put it next to Arcee from thrilling 30 figure and Arcee was bigger ! So I cancel all my beast wars figures ! No way I’m paying 33 cdn a figure that small ! Just buying g1 figures .waited 20 yrs for them just to be let down

 

What figure did you buy? And the scaling for the line is different now then Thrilling 30.

 

I agree that it is expensive, but you're not just paying for size. A lot of it is also engineering and paint.
