All I can say is all I used are completely from the Mr Color Brand of model paints, I just bought which would work and experimented :/

Oh yeah, Here's Terrorsaur in his funny Pterodactyl mode and I haven't gotten around to the extra coat yet or actually the claws on his feet for that matter, might darken the beak too.


I basically lightly sprayed a mix of metallic blood red and another red I forgot over the red bits to emulate that skin sheen on the show.

And I FINALLY got around to painting Optimus Primal! At least until I broke the bloody airbrush whilst cleaning but he was already at the stage where I could paint brush the other details, but he hasn't gotten clear coated yet so yeah not much I can do until I get some sprays and a new Airbrush gun *screams in broke*


ANYWHOO here's all the Kingdom Custom Beast Wars cast all together!, the only ones not painted yet would be Airazor and Tigatron as I just got him few days ago through the mail.

If I know how to mask areas to paint yeah, but I hope this is around what you have envisioned.

 

On curved and textured areas like on Beast Wars character figures masking with tape is pretty difficult.
But fortunately there's a solution for this:

 

Oh, it's absolutely what I've envisioned. I probably won't paint the knee joint as I intend to play with him a lot. On Cheetor that area is not paintable. Even tried removing some material from the joint for that layer of paint but nah.. just no success

Never done masking before. I paint by hand with acrylic and seal with floor varnish / finish. But I guess paint scratching will always be a thing unfortunately

 

Which floor polish do you use?

 

Just a generic no-name floor varnish (hard wood floor finish) from a local hardware store in Germany. Sorry I used the wrong word there
