I am very concerned about the ratchets. I plan on putting mine back in ship mode and leaving him that way until a solution presents itself. I think they're going to rip themselves to pieces if I try to pose him too much.

I popped mine out of the shoulders, crisis averted. Not sure what the rest look like but the shoulders were the main point of concern.

OUT OF CURIOSITY (just remembered now), does anyone have Planet X Trypticon so they can do a scale comparison of him in Nemesis mode alongside the Ark?

This guy is special…not sure we will ever get an Ark again, he satisfies my G-1 itch and at same time like anything in WFC creates a new mythology . Great addition to a collection!

Can they still pose without the ratchets in there?

A potential solution may be to take the plastic springs out temporarily, and give them similar work/compression treatment to Trypticon's hip springs to loosen them up a bit, perhaps also giving the tooth a light sand to make it less grippy/sharp, and a dash of shock oil on reassembly.

Ok, finally got the Ark in from Amazon today. Came double boxed, so that was nice. Crisp packaging! Anyway...

While I absolutely understand and mostly agree with the concerns about play value, this is still a really good figure. Admittedly, I don't think there is $160 worth of toy here, but you're going to be hard pressed to get it on a discount in this economy (good luck to those who try).

Overall I love it. Ark mode is great, bot mode is great, teletraan/mainframe is great. Small issues include the unusual hands, difficulty locking Ark mode together, and loud ratchets. Also, personal preference, I'm not a fan of the pale orange.

This is only the 2nd titan we have at my house for various reasons (Trypticon is the other), but I'm happy with my selection. Gonna try to fashion some sort of base mode to add to Teletraan's background.

Ok, here's a few configurations for a "base" mode (basically an expanded wall for teletraan).

And here's one version with some bots:

An official base mode would have been really cool, but I'm perfectly happy with this.

    My man

Nice work, definitely going to give these a try. I've made a few other 'base mode' attempts but they all invariably look like a fallen robot, or a broken spaceship.

But this is a great solution, and a different direction to what I was thinking. I realise there's some camera angle trickery going on too, but the matched colours means it works much better than it has any right to.

Think I prefer the second option the best, since it makes the most use of the unseen underside greeblies, which further differentiates it from the official modes.

Bought this as an early birthday present to myself, and overall I like him a lot. Can't help feeling some mild frustrations over a couple things (the obvious price hike and downsizing compared to previous Titans, at least in my country where there's already a markup - plus the giant open spaces on the sides of the ship).

Still, it's the Ark. And it comes with Teletraan-1 as well as the Sky Spy and two Beast Wars golden disks. What's not to love? :)
I would’ve liked a slightly larger, more playset-like vehicle for Core figures (still enjoy the DOTM Ark a lot as well!), but now that I have it: really enjoying it, even the robot mode.

Yup, this was a big issue on my copy. The problem is that the tabs of the softer grey plastic are too big for the slots, so they keep pushing themselves out. No matter how many times I'd tab it in, check if all ratchets were aligned, etc. it would always pop out. And this mold doesn't really tab in at a lot of other places, which would've mitigated this problem (a lot of detailing that looks like tabs are really just there for clearance, nothing more).

Luckily, the fix was very easy on my toy - I cut/shaved away the red bits and it solved it instantly. No more popping out, Ark stays stable and in one piece. Will need to clean up the work a bit but it gets the job done. :)

I was pretty on the fence about this guy from the moment the Ark was rumored to be the next Titan. I thought it sounded super lame, and the bot mode being The Last Autobot was such an obscure literal who reference I couldn't be bothered to care. Then pictures were shown off and I thought the hands looked awful, it didn't really do anything cool, and I didn't care about mainframe.

Having him in hand. I love him. He's so much fun to hold, main frame is really nice and hefty, I thought he would be a deluxe but he's voyager sized. The ratchets are very tight but I like that. At least mine aren't self-destructing tight. I'm glad he doesn't have a base mode, they're usually half assed and unimpressive. Overall I don't regret getting him, and I'm glad I have him.

I'm glad that the last few posts have been positive about this guy. He should be here this week and I'll try and open him as soon as possible.

The pics for the base mode with the other autobots are really great. I haven't decided how I'll display him but I'm leaning toward ship mode. As a side note I love the dotm ark playset too.

Ark is a good big boy.

    1629309194227.jpg

The ratcheting automorph parts during transformation are a delight. Genuinely appreciate the simplistic giant robot man approach, the nod to Marvel comics in that stunning headsculpt and that he's full of details inside and out. While the ideal will always be to see this stuff brought out with paint, this is going to be a cutomiser's dream bot.

Plus there's the Voyager sized robot that turns into Teletraan-1 as well as a detailed bridge interior that I think gets neglected when looking at the overall package. He says, posting no pics of Mainframe who is almost the heart of this release :lol

    1629323279888.jpg

And while far from the best Titan he's definitely not the worst, for me managing to sit both behind and in front of Trypticon at the same time, being more fun to mess with while having less play value. But as something ballsy and fresh in the Generations line - and as something that could quite happily straddle a mixed collection - this is very welcome indeed.

    1629322347435.jpg

He's also a big fuck off spaceship and big fuck off spaceships are the tits.

I adore this figure… … quickly becoming my favorite Titan.

Transformed the Ark several times now and not had any issues getting him to stay tabbed together securely in ship mode. It is really just a matter of getting the arms and legs positioned together just right in ship mode…

Totally agree with @Napalm on the “ Genuinely appreciate the simplistic giant robot man approach”

I find myself drawn to the ship mode…so cool having a great representation of the Ark….so swooshable!

Oh and here is another pic dump:cool:

Holy shit. It really is that simple. I just did this on mine, took less than 5 minutes. Ship mode is now Nearly 100% solid and properly swooshable, amazing.

    Thank you!

No. There are no eyeballs on the figure. Some factory worker must have been drunk when they painted your figure.
