I always liked the whole “revealing the robot” aspect of vehicle mode packaging. When you get it out of he box, the first thing you do is turn it into robot mode- a lot more satisfying than turning the robot into the usually mundane (but still cool) vehicle mode.

Wait - there are numbers on boxes now?

This exactly. It goes back to the whole "Robots in Disguise" thing.

I prefer the packages-in-robot-mode style. I like to compare the paint. Which online buying and Selects packaging take away anyway. I recently bought Selects Smokescreen, and his face paint is so bad it looks like he has blue mascara running down his face.

Yep, next to the name. WFC-S## for Siege, WFC-E## for Earthrise. Kingdom moved the numbers to the top flap of the package, but kept the same numbering style - WFC-K##.

Yeah. I prefer robot mode packaging too for the same reason. I mostly display my transformers in robot mode so I’d like to pick the figure with the best face paint app when given options on the shelf.

Count me in wanting BW Grimlock from Dinobot especially if they retooled some of the parts into making him look like his design from the IDW BW comics.

Well they always have these options

    Cheetor - Horror Nightprowler
Blackarachnia - Original toy and Horrorcon color schemes
    Scorponok - BW Sandstorm
    Waspinator - Fox Kids repaint
    Tracks - Loudpedal
Arcee - Combiner Hunters color scheme and Animated Dragstrip homage
Elita-1 - Animated color scheme with Animated inspired head

Since January I have purchased nearly every Siege and Earthrise figure. I never noticed.

Honestly believe this is a marketing gimmick for the OCD customers (and I agree with @MagnusPrimal that we all have some measure of OCD) similar to the numbered spines on Criterion discs. The numbers are completely arbitrary and unconnected to the figures themselves. I recommend everyone ignore them.

Didn’t forget Horrorcon Waspinator (since you mentioned two others). Man, we’re just a BW mutant Soundwave away from being able to have all four of these guys. I’d even settle for a Bat Primal remold at this point.

Of mainline Ultra Magnuses, this is only the second to come out since the Warden era began. Combiner Wars Magnus was IDW, not G1.

Though that's still more than Dinobot & Airazor had in the same time frame, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

IDW is still G1... but I know what you mean.

It's a Primax cluster universe for sure, but I personally wouldn't define it as G1, as in, the first generation of the franchise. Mainly Marvel and Sunbow could hold that title, and maaaaybe that horrid NES game. =p

Though maybe @Shmoptimus Prime defined it similarly to you? Though if that's the case, then I don't think that pointing that out has the significance that Shmoptimus Prime implied. If "G1" simply means all Primax cluster universes, that seems like too broad of a definition to be useful in this context. Maybe I'm wrong. What are your thoughts on it?

Well, TECHNICALLY, G1 ended when G2 started, but Dreamwave and IDW did updated renditions of G1, so now matter how many extra ingredients were added later, it definitely started as a G1 universe. I don’t know about Primax and other club stuff that they started using to categorize universes.. Anyway, I was just making a comment.

BW Grimlock would be a nice repaint, but in terms of mold reuses I'm hoping for a voyager version of this:

I miss those paper ties they were much more easier to get out of the packaging and you didnt always need a pair of scissors on hand, maybe we will see it come back with all of this plastic reducing they are doing

Oh yeah can't believe I forgot Horrorcon Waspinator too. Also agree on the BW Mutant soundwave bit too. Best part about it is that the amount of repaint value so far is in the Deluxe sizes so imagine the other classes gettting the same treatment like these examples.

    Rattrap - Packrat
Optimus Primal - Universe 1.0 color scheme
Rhinox - Dark Designs and Fox Kids repaint
Dinobot - BW Grimlock, BW Neo Hardhead, BM Dinotron BW II Thrustor, Fox Kids repaint, and Armada Grimlock
Tigatron - Prototype Orange color scheme, and Universe 2.0 Leo Prime
    BW Megatron - BM T-Wrecks
Galvatron - Energon Megatron and Energon Galvatron
    Ultra Magnus - Delta Magnus
Optimus Prime - G2 repaint of Earthrise mold with black trailer
    Rodimus Prime - God Primus

Plenty of exclusives to go around for next year. :)

Maybe we can get them around whenever they might do more actual Armada remakes, and we could get him retooled into Armada Wheeljack?
