I wonder if the core robot is still the Siege magnus with the top armor (including the head module) being a new mod?

 

I need a Delta Magnus repaint of that Magnus.

 

Do you reckon Magnus is the same shade of blue as the Siege figure? I'd like a lighter G1 toy blue.

 

Same though. I already have Siege Magnus so I don’t want to have another, but Delta Magnus colors would be awesome, especially for the blue inner robot!

 

Maybe.....but I'd rather have ER as the Magna Convoy....Delta is Prob more likely.

Those are not necessarily mutually exclusive, as a Magna Convoy repaint would be a Takara release.

 

Wait, I thought “Magna Convoy” was essentially just the blue robot inside of Delta Magnus (the tractor portion).

 

That’s the homages yes. But Magna Convoy is a separate character. And since the inner robot of Magnus isn’t the G1 Prime for Siege and ER, a hypothetical Magna Convoy could very well be done as a separate release, apart from a Delta Magnus repaint. So if Takara would do a Magna Convoy, it’d be a repaint of ER Prime.

Until doing some quick internet searches this morning, I didn't even realize Siege Ultra Magnus contained an inner robot. I've never been a fan of Ultra Magnus on the cartoon, and I've always thought the robot inside was much cooler than the outer shell in the original toy. I've had a mild interest in MP-711 just to have an "Ultra Magnus" of sorts in my Masterpiece collection, given that I don't care much for MP-22. It's a nice touch that Siege UM contains a white Convoy.

 

Me too. That shade of blue is the true Ultra Magnus for me.

 

Eh. As far as I’m concerned, Magna Convoy gets upgraded into Delta Magnus at some point using Diaclone tech. The inner robot is still Magna while the powered up is Delta.

 

I'd be happy with Magna Convoy being the cab robot inside Delta Magnus.

 

If we do get a Delta Magnus repaint out of Kingdom Ultra Magnus which is getting to be more and more likely now, with us getting other Diaclone repaints in Selects, we'd be also technically getting Magna convoy from the Core robot so it's more like a two in one when you think about it.

 

Isn't part of that blue just the windscreen of the tractor cab showing through?

 

From the pictures, it appears to be a darker blue. But I agree with you, vintage toy blue is the blue I would rather see on an Ultra Magnus figure.
