Hence, what I’ve been saying: SOFT. REBOOT.
“bUt ItZ kOnFuRmEd”
Most of Bumblebee’s TF cast, that bite the bucket in the 80s, are alive in 2007.
Bayverse Cliffjumper appeared to perish from a Starscream missile strike in The Reign of Starscream comic series. In 2007. Don’t think he could have survived getting cut in half.
Bayverse Dropkick turned into a pickup, and was killed in Alliance #4, set before ROTF and after the aforementioned Reign of Starscream series. Can he survive getting torn into pieces and his head combusting?
Shatter is based off Bayverse Fracture, who also died in Alliance. Fracture was also a working name for Shatter, IIRC.
Re-using characters and concepts among different continuities is common for this franchise. While the Bayverse is extremely convoluted, there are still not enough elements in my opinion to qualify this film as a possible Bayverse prequel, even by the loose Bayverse standards of continuity.
Considering that some characters in the movie tie-in materials had other versions of themselves appear in films latter on, I wouldn’t go so far as to say those tie-ins are canonical.
dont blame everyone else cause you cant even make up your own mind
Seems like I have sir. Cute cut and paste, tho
Seriously stop with humans in transformers movies for a while. Give us a couple films that take place on cybertron or something. I'm so sick of transformers having less screen time then humans in a movie that's supposed to star them.
I swear to god if I hear “wE nEeD a CyBeRtRoN fIlM!” One more time, I’m going to jump off burj khalifa
New animated transformers prequel in development
We need a movie set entirely on Earth.
Make sure to get a running jump and do a sick flip.
In this current climate, what if none of these 2 lovely ladies get the gig.
We need a film with humans and only humans
Maybe a Megatron prop in the background, waving his hand like some creeper in an Ari Aster film
Honestly if TLK is any indication, they have shown they don't care about having any source of continuity at all. Case in point Prime hearing Bumblebee speak for "the first time."
Optimus: Bumblebee! I haven't heard you speak since we Cybertron!
Bumblebee: But you heard me speak when we first took down Megatron on Earth sir.
Yeah, continuity went out the window.
Yea do you want to explain why optimus was on earth 3 times and left 3 times only to act that he has never heard of earth. Siege referenced sector 7 does that make it a prequel no it does not.
Do we really want to start with plot points and continuity errors in the live-action film continuity? Do you really want to open that can of worms?
You opened that can of worms the moment you wrote all that stuff so dont scold me for something you started
As I've said over, and over, and over, and over, and over again, there is not enough evidence in the film itself that negates Bumblebee as a Bayverse prequel. There just simply isn't. The film works as a prequel, as it was intended to. It also works as the first step in a new universe, as it was made to be in post-production. Hence, soft reboot. What is so hard to understand about this, I have no idea, other than people wanting points to win an internet argument.
If you want to open the can of worms, be my guest. The Bay films contradict one another even without factoring Bumblebee 2018 into the mess. Cherry-picking which events do and do not fit your definition of continuity (or if Hasbro themselves do it) is nothing short of laughable.
This. 1000% this. Anyone defending a sense of continuity in the films is setting themselves up to lose. Example: If it weren't for the fact that Megatron is resurrected in ROTF, you could watch TF2007 and DOTM back to back and miss literally nothing else.
dude this guy is like the most dense dude ive seen on this site who just changes what he says in between posts, really aint a point in tryna bother
Except I haven't.
In the words of Agent Fowler, "Not this again!"
Can we just end this debate already? Clearly people aren't going to budge on their opinions and at this point we're just going in circles discussing the same thing. The evidence is there, let's just leave it at that.
