This is looking considerably better than I thought it would originally, but I hope that isn't the final deco and they put some more paint and details on it.

I'm giving them 2 weeks to really impress me with this one, my Power Baser should be up on it's POL deadline by then.

 

Is it weird that one of the things I'm most excited about is the hands on this? They look to be an evolution of KFC's hand design with what looks to be fingers that can now be splayed without flopping about. Before the main four fingers on their hands were connected with a ball joint. These are pinned with a swivel, except for the thumb which is still a ball joint connection. That will make these much more stable then the previous design in my opinion.

 

I think the trailer & basemode deco are probably done but I agree that the bot mode needs some pizzas. Even a few different reds on the details would be nice.

I'm in on this for now. I've owned Power Baser and he's decent enough but there's definitely room to improve. Especially in the joints. Hopefully KFTBXYZ pulls it off, I want them to succeed but if they want the price point this was solicited at then it's gotta be a home run.

 

Is there a hard release date on this guy, or the inner Optimus, yet? It's been well over two years now.

 

I still have this preordered, glad to see it’s moving forward.

no way it’ll replace Power Baser for me (it’s one of my favorites), but Ginrai is almost always a priority.

 

I'd wager within a year now that we're seeing colored test shots.

Ah! I bet if you reached out through their Facebook and made the suggestion they would consider extra parts to do that. XTB has done similar things when suggested in the past.

Totally agree, even if it loses me those Pre-Order bonuses.

Also this is KFC not XTB. I find KFC seems to have better luck with making several successful products in a row; Blaster, Simba, Apeface, Kingzilla, Wreck-Garr, and the other Junkions. So I'm still hesitant about this guy, but not as worried if it was X-Transbots.

Also is this guy being sold as inner bot and trailer separately?

 

Powermaster Optimus Prime is my favorite Transformer. I was so certain about getting Powerbaser V2, but then these shots had to come out. I thought the renders looked amazing, but read more than once about their QC. It looks like they still have to finish the tractor/cab portion of this bot, so like many here, I'm gonna take a wait and see approach to this. If I get this I'm going to need that Marvel Comics head/potrait. The sculpt looks great, and few drops of Tamiya red will have it looking legit.

How did it take this long for anybody to make an MP PMPrime? Looks great. But this lives and dies on the how the core bot turns out. Based on the super bit, I have high hopes.

Boxed up my v1 powerbaser, was never happy with it and now it can barely stand on its own, so interested in this but will probably wait for reviews.

 

That would be cool, but I'm so happy that they're going all-in on the Marvel look. Marvel PM Prime was just a great character. Probably the best character to come out of the original G1 toy. Ginrai has a good look, but Marvel Prime has the good memories.

I'm fine with this not being Ginrai. But I wouldn't say no to extras that make conversion to Ginrai possible.

 

I've been waiting on this guy for a long time. I would prefer a more Masterforce accurate color scheme and I wish the back piece didn't stick up behind the head. I would have like if they should have found a way to move that out of the way.
