The hands on mine are nice and tight... But I do agree on the frail nature of the hands... They could benefit from construction like Fanstoys with the pinned knuckles and such. I still love the figures though. I still wonder why they went with silver versus the white... I too found it strange.

Anyone know a good set of replacement hands for this guy? Preferably in white? X-Transbots/KFC support said they only have the purple ones.

KFC Ultra Magnus hands look to be the same sculpt but I'd think there'd be a size difference.

 

I think some came with his Dragon partner. You had to assemble them though.

 

I didn't get those, just the replacement head.

 

But then the hands will lost their finger spread out feature which I absolutely love! FT hands are sturdier but those have a lot less articulation.

 

For me I'd rather have more sturdy... I'm not ham fisted by any means but I love how the Fanstoys hands are built.

Nice job! The contrast of white against black is very striking.
It looks to have a matte sorta finish. Are you planning to keep that look or add some glossy protective finishing? Also, did you or are you planning to add any protective finish at all? Curious about long term wearing off of the paint.

Not looking to add any protective finish at all. This Tamiya paint is super solid... It's the USAF Insignia White paint...had a protective polymer base built in to the paint...and the way I painted I won't have any rub spots.

They are the grey sets that came with my figure, but also painted.

Those grey hands made me take up cursing.

 

Once you get the fingers all together, which yes was a bear... The hands come together pretty easy after that.
