Not to distract off-topic, but can't help imagining the mechanics and scale of how an MP Pretender could work.

Like a smaller MP carbot figure-sized compressed into chest of chest cavity of near CHUG sized combiner figure (12 - 15 inches)

Probably not practical or something there'd be a lot of demand for, but would be cool to see someone try.

Like I think it would be just me that would want a Bugly or Submarauder the size of FT Phoenix

I wouldn't be surprised if they happen to have the Clones right up their sleeve. Legit though i'm calling it now, within the next 6 months, watch there be a Clones reveal of some form.

Regardless, they'd have to REALLY wow me for me to go in on the Clones. They never really stood out to me, personally.

I do plan on getting one copy of P/CP but still debating which … I’m thinking the “US version” currently but maybe this is an excuse to get one of each. Depending on spacing, I may display the MP on the Autobot side of the room. Clones I wouldn’t be mad at either  

Thanks!! And I’ve thought about that before!! I’d almost just take a Deluxe sized inner robot that folds up into the torso of a highly articulated shell that’s about MP leader sized

 

Makes me kinda wish they made it all a single release with extra parts. Either way i'm going in on both, probably gonna end up having the US one (my personal favorite between the two) on the Autobots side, the JP one on the Decepticons side. Already got Darius EX as well so once I get Galvatron, I can finally have him snooping in on UNICORN, THE EARTH WILL SOON BE A PART OF ME.

 

For a pretender, the core bot doesn't have to fold up into just the torso if the outer shell was made to be a kind of suit that the bot wore, like a hazmat suit. Combination of rubber skin pieces attached to plastic joints.

 

Might work if it can be done without hindering articulation.

Though, I think a good candidate for a big outer shell like I suggested would be Thunderwing

Okay, this looks a thousand times better than that weird grey from the first release. I’ll probably pick these versions up.

Am I crazy or does it look like they also fixed the problem of the hip ratchets being spaced way too far apart to get any natural stance? I know this is just a render but you wouldn’t show off a natural A stance that your figure couldn’t do, right?

I wish this was how it was originally released, but I don’t think I’m willing to replace them at $180 a pop.

Unless someone likes the originals enough to give me $100 for them… then they can have them for cheap if they don’t mind the silver and I’ll pay the $80 upgrade fee … anyone?

Looks like we're at least getting new hands with this release, those ones in the renders are pinned.

 

Man... My wallet didn't need to see this. The gray was my biggest gripe about these. Both of these were the most solid releases. Looks like the fixed the face and the less lavender shade of purple. I need to pick them up.
