Now I am not going to knock KFC. Stack I hear has shown they can do it right. Just if I'm getting a new Cyclonus, I need something different. This looks like has/tak with a better leg transformation. Which if you don't already own the guy, yes should be a good buy. I just don't see anything to sway folks who already jave him.

I can answer this. About a year ago I was talking with Keith about a Nightstick Targetmaster partner he was thinking of. I suggested the name Thug for it, since Nightstick was a criminal thug. This is long before I heard of Fakebusker's Thugger. I had not heard about it again until just this morning when I learned his line of Transformer and partner would be called CHUG & Thug. I guess he used the name for the line, not the character.

Robot mode looks awesome and I'm sad that it isn't MP size, the fact there is already a classics version out there that ppl seem to like makes it an odd decision. Oh well, money for other things.

Wouldn't an MP Cyclonus have to stand as tall as Ultra Magnus anyways? He'd be on par with Kronos.

 

i'll probably get this, but being KFC doesn't exactly fill me with hope in terms of quality or colour palette.

 

I think there might be some merit to a Cyclonus design where the wings end up on his back not his arms. It will keep them out of the way and maintain the look when you move the arms.

This one looks OK but not something i'd come close to paying £70.00 that's for sure.

 

Project looks good from these early photos, but I'm in love with the Hasbro deluxe so I don't know if it's needed for me personally.

I look forward to in-hand reviews of it however. Seeing it as a larger figure is very interesting.

 

Masterpiece 23 will be either Sixshot, Galvatron or Cyclonus. This is inclining me to believe TakaraTomy are doing the latter.

Easy pass, as the deluxe is a superb figure...MP scale or bust.

 

It looks all well and fine, but I already have a perfectly good updated G1 Cyclonus. If this was to be IDW or Masterpiece, I'd give it a second glance, but as it is I have no interest. Also, since KFC uses that awful concave face sculpt style, I'm sure the end result won't be to my liking, either.

Hasbro did release a purple one as well, but he was in the double and triple packs, this one was more of a homage to his toy. Makes for some good troop building that colour variant though, to give Cyclonus his armada ^^

Love my Hard Heroes...only have Grimlock and Megatron, but they're pretty sweet.

 

Is it wrong that I was really hoping for the IDW Samurai armor/skeletal-face look? I'm a little disappointed. He looks really nice and I'm happy for those who want him, but I'll save my cash, till someone steps on the gold mine that is IDW Cyclonus
