    Kentucky Transformers Fan Club

Hi, I haven't posted a lot in the boards, but I was wondering if there are any Transformer Fan Clubs in the Louisville, KY area? I know that they have done meetups, but I wondered if there were any fanclubs.

I come from a background in Georgia where I helped to form a Star Wars Fan Club and there tends to be a lot of clubs in the Star Wars community. I know that Louisville has a Star Wars Collecting Club and those guys seem nice.

But I have an interest in finding a group of local Transformer fans not just to trade with but also to fellowship with and talk about the franchise and other franchises we love.

So does anything like this exist? If not, Is anyone interested in forming a fan club?

While I don't know of a fan club, we DO have a KY meetup about once a year. I actually come from TN to join in. It's always a good time. Last time was the best yet I think - holding it at someone's house so we weren't pressured to leave, plus more room to spread out and be stupid, was awesome. Plus, Bret almost burned down his house making tin-foil burgers, hahaha.

Anywhos, here's the thread for our meet-ups. You can see that it's quite old - started in 2008, and last post was late last year, after the last one. I think I'll go post in it right now!

So, I don't think March or April will work out well, hahaha.

My wife is actually going to be very close to Florence for some stupid thing this summer, but don't know if people want one that close to BotCon. With BotCon being a spring event this year, a fall event might be good timing.

And we should talk more about the customs thing. Get a few good ideas that are feasible, then put it to a vote! I think getting a custom part made for it would just be amazing.

I know with BotCon being next week, people may not even really want to talk about it right now...or maybe that makes it the BEST time to talk about our next one, hehe.

Yeah, Botcon pretty much pushed us back from spring to either late summer or fall.

I can't host this year. Plans have changed. I got too many other things that are running behind schedule, so I'm not gonna have my house free this year.

Orson said his new storage rental has an area we might could use - for free!

Also, what's the thought on a custom figure? If we could get heads made or something, then we could get something off the shelf and do something fun. Maybe see what's feasible, then vote on the top ideas?

Oi! What about re purposing that sorry short FOC Prime as the custom. He's easy enough to get and I'd pass unless unless we could make him into a fill in classics figure.

Sidecutter is meeting up with me and Insane Galvatron this afternoon, I hope to be able to discuss it more with him then. He mentioned something recently about possibly holding it at the building where Captured Prey is.

Just polling, how does everyone feel for an early-mid November meetup this year? Slag-A-Con is in October, September is too soon for anyone to make plans, and December is Christmas time and may be harder for people to get away/possible bad weather.
