Did anyone else collect these badboys? There were some of the greatest action figures of the 1990's in my opinion. I had them all once, but am now trying to get a MISB Complete 1992-1995 Collection. Damn, where were you 4 months ago? I sold about a dozen of them MOC for $1 each at a local flea market.
Heh, here I am! Yeah, I bought 7 of them MOC for $3 each the other day... made me really excited. Not often you can get such NICE sculpts that are MOC 20 years old for that cheap... Like I said... there are a lot of them! Still, some are much more rare, like the UK exclusives or the Arachnid... and of course the Egg Lair Playset. Still, any of those are far, far cheaper than Transformers.
heck ya...i think i had them all. i was in the attic last week digging out some transformers and spotted some aliens...was sweating my ass off. playing with aliens in my attic
I had a shit load of these guys when I was a kid. Fairly certain they ended up as yard sale fodder by my parents.
These came out when I was in my "too old for toys" phase, but I had to get them anyways because 1) I was (and still am) a die-hard Alien fan and 2) It amused me immensely that Kenner made a line of toys based off a rated-R series of movies.
I have several of them: Scorpion Bull Mantis Arachnid Swarm Queen King (w/ Hicks) Flying Queen Wild Boar And I have the humans Ripley, Drake, Apone, Bishop. I am thinking about selling the Aliens, however. Maybe maybe not.
Almost forgot I had the gorilla alien with the squirting head too. My favorite was the scorpion, though, because it looked like a traditional xenomorph and had that cool "fly apart" feature.
With the arguable exception of the Beast-Era Transformers, Most of the toys Kenner Produced in the 1990's were pretty cool. It kind of sucks that Hasbro dismantled the Cincinnati-based company back in 2001 because many of those action figures Kenner made were pretty cool in spite of their simplicity, Just look at the toys for the first two Jurassic Park films. Not only did we get figures of the movie characters AND many of the dinosaurs seen in the films, but we got vehicles accurate to the films that were absolutely LOADED with play value. Even the vehicles that weren't in the films that were created for short-lived sublines got this treatment. Hell, even the POTF Star Wars toys got this treatment and Hasbro recycles the POTF playset molds every time George Lucas says anniversary. RIP Kenner.
I remember how lame the Ripley toy was (flame goes in-and-out action!) but how amazingly badass some of the aliens and the powerloader were. Don't know much about the rest of them, but I remember wanting the Apone figure.
I bought the Queen at a flea market some time ago. She has a hole on her back so I'm assuming shes missing an accessory or something.
