It's time to face facts, Fans Toys are not the only guys who can do MP figures now. I wonder if any of these companies would dare do a version of Shockwave?

Well, let's see who can both design him better aesthetically and functionally. This looks nice so far.

So far so good... if they make these guys smaller than the FT ones, they'll be competing with the CHUG style stuff already out, rather than the MP version from FT. Judging by the holes for the pins though, I'm guessing it's MP scale.

 

Looks like I'm gonna pass on this guy.

 

I know in the cartoon, the shutters were grey or white for contrast. Still, the sparkly grey here looks wierd. Never seen a shutter that wasn't black (although there probably are some out there). I think a realistic black would've suited this well.

 

I think it looks really good so far. And very similar to FT Spotter. I'm inclined to think FT's head (at least 1 or 2 of them) have more appeal that this one, but there's not much wrong with KFC's either.
I like the waist/crotch area better on KFC's though, looks like they have a solid balljoint there. FT's seems to be wearing oversized speedos with lots of moving panels.

I'll be following both companies eagerly, one way or another I'll get a masterpiece Reflector, happy days

From the small amount we have seen, I totally agree that KFC looks more "accurate".
Every aspect looks better, in particular the chest and arms.

 

Looks like it so far. And why does FT add faction symbol mold detail on the chest when Reflector never had it there in the cartoon to begin with? The logo goes in the shoulder but more importantly, making room for it in the chest just makes the torso more elongated further distancing the FT design from how it looks in the cartoons. KFC is going more cartoons accurate it seems.

 

Pretty sure FT said that would be changed for the release of the toy. BTW, is this just a render?

 

They will chance the whole chest? Because what makes the designs miss the cartoon look is that elongated chest. The designer probably put the symbol detail there to fill up the empty space created by the long chest. The KFC does not have that need since it follows the wide chest design from the cartoon.

Stuff like this is why companies should wait to have the designs finalized before opening up preorders. The whole point of showing early designs is to create hype and take advantage of fan input to better the product; not to put up the earliest preorder possible to tie people down while they chance stuff. Anything is fair when going after the mighty dollar I guess, but the former shows more respect to the custommer than the latter.

 

FT said that they were removing the chest symbol thing
