I’m really proud of this pose because it was really hard to pull off and by the time I finished I was dripping with sweat! Also bonus car mode shot. This is still one of the best transforming figures I’ve ever handled in my life.

Man, can DX9 or any literally other company please make a repaint of this figure... preferably with a new head??

It boggles my mind that there has never been a second release of such a brilliant mold. I've never liked TLK Hot Rod's colours or thing-that's-apparently-a-face, but I would be all over a blue or red repaint of this guy with a less-goofy head design. Seems a shame to waste such amazing engineering on this one silly character and never use it again.

Mine spends good chunks of time in lambo mode as well sometimes! It's one of my favorite alt modes of any figure I own too.

 

Has anyone tried sticking a different head on this body? I’m curious how it looked.

been contemplating picking it up as it looks like an incredible figure, but as like many on here I don’t have much love for the head (I also don’t care about accuracy, so as long as I have a good looking head on their that matches the body aesthetically, I’m good)

 

Out of all the figures I own this is the only one I remotely care about getting a new head. It would be awesome if someone made a G1 inspired hotrod (with some live action aesthetic, like the bumblebee movie) that matched the color scheme of this guy. I always hated how "hot rod" didn't look anything like G1 hot rod, and was French. WTF. I can ignore the French part with the figure, but the head just bugs me.

 

for sure, a more hot rod-esque head would really help this design. Even a drone looking head would make me happy.
I’ve actually been scrolling through various headsculpt appreciation threads in hope of finding something that I find aesthetically suitable, but so far - nothing. Not having the figure in hand is making this way more difficult, I don’t know how big it should be.

edit: I seem to remember seeing that someone had swapped mpm bumblebee’s head with wfc (the game) Bumblebee’s head and it apparently worked pretty well. Does anyone know who did it?

 

People have been talking about wanting a new head since before the figure even came out. It’s not an original thought. Someone needs to do it already.

I can dig it. Good to know other heads can look good on that body.

 

Not my cup of tea. The head shape is weird and the face has a very dull expression. I’d prefer if it was something that could fit in with the movieverse more.
