    Thanks! :D :D :D

The paints I used were all Tamiya acrylics:
    X-31 Titanium Gold
X-32 Titanium Silver (only on the jawline)
X-10 Gun Metal (on face, chest/ collar bone, biceps, knees, upper thighs and guns)
X-6 Orange mixed with X-7 Red (for the face, back of head, vehicle fins and stop-ze-time gun)

Definitely didn't have all that orange on it in the movie, although that doesn't look bad at all.

How did you guys extend down the upper thigh per the picture? I’m looking at my copy and don’t see it’s possible????

    Thanks in advance :)

Edit: just figure it out, you got to rotate the leg connection 180.

So I still really love my LA Hire and he can still do awesome stuff like this, but I’m sad to report that the joints (mostly the knees, hips and door wings) have loosened up significantly over time. Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't pose mine that often so the joints are still good. I was wondering as they're all friction joints how long they'd last.

Mine have become loose. I struggled to get him in a handstand pose since his joints were so loose.

Crap. Well I guess this is why some people go on and on about ratchet joints... On the plus side he's showing wear because we enjoy the figure so much! Which joints are becoming loose on yours? Mine is loose in the right knee, both hips, and the door wings kinda flop around now, although they might be able to be fixed by tightening up the screws?

I mostly notice in the arms, and doors. Probably because I've mostly posed him handstands. There is more options with friction joints, but ratchet joints seem to last longer.

Using @Chris C137 ’s awesome paint job as a guide, I finally went to town on my LA Hire! I’m debating adding some ink wash to dull down the silver and gold a bit but I dunno. What do you guys think?

What a work! I like the golden part of it. does the paint easily come off? I still don't have the small symbol label for it. My paint job is still in slow progress.

Looks awesome! Painting the knees really does make a huge difference and the gold detailing adds so much as well.

Easy fix. A drop of floor polish on a Q-tip dabbed at spots around the joints, let dry. Start small to gauge your desired friction.

Thank you! Looks like you did the knees, which is the most important part. I haven't seen any of my paint come off yet but it's only been a couple days so we'll see. Even if he gets a few scratches then it doesn't matter cause they always had scratches and dings in bot mode in the movies.
Thanks! Yeah the knees are essential, IMO. The rest is just window dressing, although I do like him even more now that I painted him up. He looks even flashier, which is good for the character.
I know, I've done that on many figures, but it's tougher on anything that isn't a ball joint and it's just a bummer since he was perfect when I got him as opposed to loose out of the box. It indicates that the problem will just get worse over time :(  Hope I'm wrong though!

Used some future on the joints (took two coats and a lot of drying time!) and now he’s good as new! The posability of this figure puts most figures (TFs and non-TFs!) to shame.
