EXCLUSIVE: Justice League Movie Is a Go

Atleast bats and sups aren't in it yet but still find it hard to believe they won't include them. It would be like doing the avengers movie without ironman and captain america. But still looks like DC might finally pull their sh## together.

It could work, They could use the Mark Waid version. Then if they wanted Superman or Batman could make a brief cameo. That version was Black Canary, Gl, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. But they could probably easily switch out Dina for Diana.

I know but still two huge names that are being worked on by the same person(Nolan) that could diffently attract a huge audience and not have them in it is odd. I could see batman being out of place, but superman? Also I personally hate aquaman and find it out superman isn't in and he is. Like having Ant-Man as the leader of the Avengers(though I do like AntMan). Though I always pefered Marvel over DC so I may have some bias.

I'll believe it when I see set pics and posters. I love how it says a Flash movie will already have been released, yet it was dead in the water last I heard.

And don't make me give anyone an Aquaman smackdown.

Actually, it was greenlit again early this summer. It's in writing stages last I heard.

:lol  I swear, some people are un-fucking-believable. If they make a SLIGHT change to the original, everyone whines about how Hollywood doesn't get the original at all. Now they're staying about as true to the original as they can get, and people are whining about that?
Goddamn. Just goes to show that most people will just hate on a movie for the sake of hating on a movie. What, are you guys going to get mad if Starro is the villain now instead of Darkseid or the Black Lanterns? :lol

I don't see what the big deal is. The Justice League started out with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. Batman and Superman joined later. If that's the way they're going then that's totally acceptable. Besides, they're making the movie not us. They can do what they want.

I gurantee without Batman or Superman this is going to be as bad of a DC Trainwrecks as Steel or Jonah Hex.

    To channel Twin Twist: Really............Really......

That's like saying the Avengers movie would completely suck and bomb if Captain America wasn't in it.

^Your is thinking what I'm thinking....
.... Where would DC Comics be today without Superman and Batman....
Its just a stupid move in my eyes to leave them out... Now, my hopes for this to go be a good movie just went from 100% to 50%....
Hopefully, The Green Lanter will make up for the the team....
It makes no sense.... Why would you keep Aquaman instead of Superman and Batman.....!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!
    AHHHH!!!!!
SUPERMAN AND BATMAN ARE USEFUL AND AQUAMAN IS USELESS!
Lolz, so what, they are going to make half of the movie watching Aquaman under the fucken water saying... Come my little fishy friends...
    AHHHH, SERIOUSLY WTF!!!!!
    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
As you can tell, I'm pissed... x-D

I don't really mind this actually. Batman has always felt out of place with rest of the DC Universe, so if anything I think it'll help make the film feel more believable. But I'm seriously doubting this will come together at this point

Your thought process here is actually why Superman and Batman weren't really in the Justice League when it first started up. Even back in the early 60s, those two characters were really popular and heavily exposed, appearing in multiple comics each month. So for many of the early issues of the original Justice League comic, Superman and Batman only showed up at the end of the story to hang out with the rest of the League - and they never appeared on the early covers. DC wanted to let the other, less popular heroes get a chance to shine without being overshadowed by the two superstars. I'm sure that the thought process is much the same here; give the other characters more exposure by leaving out the two that would unavoidably hog the most screentime. It's the Justice League of America, not The Adventures of Batman and Superman and Some Other Dudes. Back in the 60s they let the League become popular in its own rights before they let Supes and Bats really get into the mix (although even then they usually pulled out some Kryptonite early on so that Superman didn't make the rest of the team superfluous). I think it's smart to do the same with the movies (and that's not even thinking about the incongruity of Nolan's Batman trying to fit in with a fully superhero-ed DCU).

And as for the argument that "it's not the JLA without Superman and Batman," well, it has been before. Several times. In fact, there was about a decade there from the early 80s Justice League Detroit up through the Grant Morrison relaunch where the Justice League had, at best, only one of them. My favorite Justice League incarnation ever, the Justice League International, was even made up mostly of more minor characters that the majority of casual comics fans have never even heard of. Hell, the current League has none of the "Big Seven" and I'm finding it the best to book has been in years (although, in fairness, it does have a really cool ersatz version of the classic JLA made up of characters like Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Supergirl, Jade, Jesse Quick, and the blue Starman - leaving only Aquaman without a clear proxy - because, of course, he sucks).

So, tl;dr version, I'm down with no Superman or Batman. It's far from the first time they haven't been on the JLA and the team's done fine without them before.

i think that's for the best, if it had superman or batman in it any more then just a cameo, they'd just turn it into a "batman/superman" movie guest starting the other characters.

with out batman and superman it gives the not so "famous" superheroes a chance to shine, also, it gives them two more people they can cast in replace of them. I mean, Put supergirl or something in replace of Superman, if you MUST have a "superman" lol

but i'd be happy with it being Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and who ever else they plan to cast. i just ask that they limit it to 5 or 6. so they can create a story with substance and not just a big mess of random characters popping up, and doing nothing, like what bay did with tf2.

I'd just as soon Batman not be on the roster, but then Batman switching between "mysterious urban legend who stalks the criminals of Gotham" to "superhero Batgod fighting aliens with the JLA" has never sat well with me. And the current version especially wouldn't work, given the more realistic leanings of the Nolanverse. I could go either way on the inclusion of Superman. He's a popular character and could draw people in, but is he so popular that he'll overshadow everyone else? If the idea is to start WW, MM and Aquaman off in JLA and then spin them off into their own franchises, would having Superman in the picture take too much focus off those characters?

Optimally, I think the best situation for a JLA movie would be to get more DC characters out in the public consciousness in good quality individual films and then pick the JLA roster based on which movies did well, plus a few new characters. Get the first GL, Flash, Superman reboot and maybe a WW or Aquaman solo movie out there, get them confirmed for sequels and then start doing JLA. And if Booster Gold, Green Arrow, Arseface or some other random DC character has a successful solo movie in the meantime, put them in the JLA movie too.

Well, I do love them all... But just not Aquaman.... =-\
Yes, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter are amazing heroes.... I love them as much as I love Superman and Batman but what makes me more upset is that Aquaman has to make a appearances....
Like come on, what would make more sense.... Have Aquaman in this or either superman or batman....

Aquaman is in on a grandfather clause. Most people think he's shit, but he was a founding member so he gets included.
