Oh wow, am I loving this thing! Upgraded from a 2003 Cavalier w/ 160K miles. Are there other VW fans on the boards here? Any that have done mods? I'm entertaining the idea of doing an ECU upgrade, but for now I'm just enjoying the 60 extra horses I get with this thing over the Cavalier!
I Honestly think they could've managed to make Bumblebee a GTI. Dude I'd put Red and Blue stripes on it for the heck of it
looks great, I was a VW guy at one time and moved on to my current B5 Audi S4. The new GTI with the 2.0 turbo is a great platform to mod. My words of advice is learn the cars limits and then start to mod her, you can never go wrong with and ecu upgrade cheap and easy power. Also a good investment is spending some time in a performance driving school that can teach you how to drive better. I did it years ago and it was well worth it. God luck and enjoy the new ride.
Welcome to the VW family man. While im a big fan of the tdi, that gti will treat you well. I drive a '06 jetta tdi and a '97 jetta gt. Both are decepticons.
Actually a Civic Type-R is what I think of when I think of a G1-update Bumblebee. OT: a fine choice of motorcar, I've heard these things hoon. Enjoy your speeding fines
Nice, I like the VW Golf GTI. I would like to have a VW Polo 3 in baby blue and then lower it down. Or the new VW Scirocco is another really cool car from VW. Actually you can buy every car from VW as they make some of the best quality cars in the world. But most of their cars are more for family people.
Pretty! I love VWs, I've just had an old Beetle and new Beetle throughout my car-driving life. I currently have a 2006 New Beetle convertible :3
I really like the red grills VW is putting on all their current cars. As for modifications, I second the Herbie and Bugbite ideas.
Wow! Thanks guy for the praise! Haha, yeah I've thought about putting an Autobot badge on the hatch, but maybe I'll just leave it clean for now. Good call on the getting used to the engine, as I'm not really used to driving a sports car. The rims actually came standard on the car starting in 2011, which is a good thing IMO. This car really is, for me a least, the perfect balance between performance and practicality. This car will definitely be enjoyed for many miles to come!
As I know that, I just mean, be sure to take care of those. Actually, another part of me says to be careful of what "modding" you do to it, so you don't void the warranty.
I have had 2 84' Rabbit (one year only) GTIs, an 87 16V Scirocco, an 86 8V Scirocco, a 92 Jetta, An 85 Rabbit Cabriolet, a 67 Karman Ghia, a 66 Beetle, a 70 Beetle, and I am in the middle of Restoring a 62 Beetle.
