Just upgraded from my old DS too a new DS Lite got the cobalt/back one i am enjoying it. I also got the new Advance wars game for the DS too.
God don't talk to me about Phoenix Wright... I'm a Phoenix Wright widow(er) haha. My gf can't get enough, she's cleared them all and almost done with Apollo Justice now. She just gets home from work, DS on, and no word from her til bedtime hahaha
The games i all ready own for the DS are New Super Mario Bros, Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS , Mega Man ZX, Front Misson DS, FF3, Pokemon Diamond Advance wars DS and a bunch of GBA games.
I second Hotel Dusk Room 215. Such an awesome game. -New Super Mario Bros -Mario Kart DS -Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. RPG + Bejeweled = WIN -Pokemon Diamond/Pearl if you're into it.
Definitely get Hotel Dusk, it is probably one of my all time favorite games EVER. Love it. Still replay it fairly frequently. Can't go wrong with the Ace Attorney series...but if you are going to play them, start from the first one and work your way to the fourth. Elite Beat Agents is tons of fun, and should last you a while (some real hard songs on there). Trauma Center is an amazing game that shows off the DS's touchscreen, and can be hard as Hell. Metroid and Dementium are pretty solid shooters as well. Metroid has a rather poor single player (I know, a Metroid game with a bad single player mode ) , but solid multiplayer. Dementium is....interesting, the visuals are great, it is very atmospheric, but it's not from a major developer and it shows.
The only other games you shoul get that are not mentioned are: Meteos (The first one, not the disney one) Picross Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Along with all the great games already listed. Sonic Rush Sonic Rush Adventure Tetris DS (best tetris EVER)
That's what I need to do, trade my brick DS in for a lite The thing has always worked so well, go Nintendo tempted to try one of those new pokemon games, just becasue i get addicted to that formula easy (collecting mostly)m but im a dead man if the woman catches me playing it Not sure if I can get into it or not, but played most the rest of the ds games and running out of options
I have the original DS and I have no reason to get rid of it. Hell, I had the original Gameboy Advance, and the only reason I got a SP is because my girlfriend got it for herself, but my girlfriend has the red mario kart version of the original DSs so we have no reason to get the Lites yet. Oh yeah, I just went to Best Buy last night and picked up Apollo Justice. Hope this game dosn't distract me too much from School work.
Here's what I have to say If you're going to buy just a few games, I'd reccomend: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Skip Portrait of Ruin) Phoenix Wright 1 or 3 (Skip 2 or 4) Animal Crossing (If you didn't get the gc version) Megaman ZX Advent (Skip ZX) Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (Skip the other PKMN DS games) Warioware Touched! (Replay value galore) Clubhouse games (If you're into cards and stuff, even more replay than WW:T!) Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (My favorite DS game yet, a MUST buy) You might want to get: Mario Kart DS (It's pretty fun, but online mode's a bitch because people will disconnect if they're losing [same for MP:H] and some use tactics like snaking which make the game unfair for a beginner) Professor Layton and the Curious Village (If you're a puzzle-solving lover) Tetris DS (If you're a tetris maniac) Planet Puzzle League (If you like bejewled and stuff like that; this one is top-notch) You could skip: Metroid Prime Hunters (OK Game, single player gets really repetitive, as does wi-fi) New Super Mario Bros. (This one's a renter, you could beat it in two days) Super Mario 64 DS (If you have the 64 version, it's almost a direct port) FF III (If you're new to Final Fantasy like I am; because this game is one hell of a challenge. I thought dying was supposed to be a part of the storyline until I got the game over screen) I have no idea about: Star Fox DS Hotel Dusk FF XII Sonic Rush games
I'm going to disagree on skipping ZX. While ZX Advent has a deeper game system and more veriety of gameplay, It's story heavy and makes no sense without ZX to establish its history. You really should play both. Star Fox DS Only if you really like Krystal or are otherwise enthralled by the Starfox story because this game is all about the story. Hotel Dusk Haven't played it but it's by the same developers as Trace Memory which was a good game. Light on the challenge but deep on the story. FF XII Sorry no clue, and no time for Final Fantasy. Sonic Rush games OH GOD GET THEM NOW! Best Sonic games EVER.
