It's no secret that the films, or at least the first few ones, were produced in part by DreamWorks. The same DreamWorks that was founded in part by Steven Spielberg, who has produced the live action Transformers movies...and also produced the Shrek movies. Not to mention that Spielberg was who acquired the rights to the book that inspired the movies in 1991. Since Spielberg was involved with both Shrek AND Bayformers, perhaps one or more of the films are already Shrekformers movies.

    Shrekformers

In Prime's final speech, he says, "Like us, there's more to them than meets the eye." Just like Shrek and ogres, which both have layers!

And like the first Shrek film introduced audiences to the Ogrelord, Duloc, and Shrek's swamp, the first Transformers film introduced the world to live action Transformers!

    Revenge of the Farquaad

Long Haul, like Onslaught, is a mean, green, cannon fodder machine! And, like Onslaught, his head is the size and shape of a giant onion!

Plus, when in Paris, Rin and Judy Witwicky are eating escargot, which is none other than snails. Snails which are distant relations of the slugs that Shrek likes to eat! Judy even compares them to Canadian goose poop...and Rumpelstiltskin has a pet/carriage puller who is none other than a giant goose! And geese are birds that often nest and feed in swamps!

    Drek of the Moon

Igor, who is almost certainly meant to be Long Haul's head, is also the size and shape of a giant onion! He's like the cheerful but mentally challenged Thelonius from the first Shrek movie!

And continuing with Ron and Judy, during a pep talk of sorts with Sam, Ron repeats what he said to her a long time ago: "I will follow you to the end of time." What does Shrek do in his films? He rescues Fiona from a distant castle guarded by a dragon! Shrek literally gets transported to an alternate reality and realizes how much he loves Fiona in the process! He kisses her as he fades of out of Shrexistence! Shrek will go to the ends of the Earth or the ends for those he cares about!

    Age of Shrextinction

It is revealed that Optimus was a Knight...just like the knights who appear in Shrek.

Furthermore, the film introduces us to Hound, a mean, green Autobot who appears scary on the outside, with his guns, knives, bullet cigar, and foul words. However, like the Ogrelord himself, Hound is not so ad on the inside. He deeply cares for his leader, and even though he strongly distrusts all humans at first, he comes to care for and respect the Yeagers as time goes on, to the point he threatens Crosshairs for wanting to abandon Prime AND Tessa, and he cheers on Cade in Hong Kong. In Shrek, the Ogrelord laments how others, "Judge me before they even knew me!" Likewise, one of the morals of Age of Extinction is, "You gotta look at all the junk and see the treasure." Hound and some of his teammates may be rough-around-the-edges, much like Shrek and other ogres, and too many humans judge them before they even know them, but they have "treasure" within them as individuals.

Plus, AoE also features a scene where Cade chugs a Bud Lite from a massive horde from a damaged truck. Kind of like Shrek saying, "Can't we just settle this over a pint?"

Finally, in Shrek, the ogre and Donkey sneak into the castle to rescue Fiona, much like the Autobots, Cade, and Shane sneaking onto the Knightship to rescue Prime and Tessa! And both have their own fire-breathing dragons of sorts...and in both instances, the fire-breathing dragons end up being the cavalry in the films' climaxes!

    The Last Knight (of Duloc)

Robot knights and dragons and wizards and castles. Just like in Shrek. And the sequels feature villains like Fairy Godmother and Rumpelstiltskin. The former is a female sorceress who disappears when vanquished...much like Quintessa! And Rumpelstiltskin is a forger of magical documents, but his wording and deals are very deceptive...and Quintessa is referred to as, "The Great Deceiver!"

Furthermore, it turns out that the Earth is none other than Unicron himself. His horns in the movie pierce the uppermost layers of Earth's crust. And just like ogres and onions have layers, so do Earth and Cybertron have layers. A damaged Cybertron reveals many different layers. It even appears that parts of Cybertorn are greener than seen in the past.

Finally, Onslaught is a not-so-mean, green, cannon fodder machine whose head resembles a giant onion! Furthermore, just like cutting onions makes you cry, perhaps his fate made Decepticon fans mourn and lament how the (traditionally speaking) Combaticon leader was treated in The Last Knight! Perhaps he should have been named Shrekage!

    Broganbee

Have you ever noticed how Bumblebee in this film looks...well...kind of like an ogre?

He wears his VW Bug alternate around his torso in such a way that is body type is actually just like Shrek's. Furthermore, his "ears" in the movie likewise resemble the ears of Shrek, Fiona, Brogan, and other ogres in the Shrek movies! Perhaps Bumblebee is none other than Shrek in disguise! Unlikely? Absolutely! But it's fun to think about.

Disclaimer: I know that the Transformers are NOT Shrekformers movies, unless Paramount has some retcons I don't know about. But shouldn't Transformers and the discussions about it be FUN above all else? That's why I'm making this thread: to have some fun discussions and get people thinking!

Which movie(s) do you think is the closest to Shrekformers and why?

    Have a Shrektastic day!

    That was Shrek 2!

Plus, when we first meet Lockdown, he is hunting Ratchet from a swamp! He's literally the only antagonist in the films whom we see in such an environment! Perhaps there's a mean, green, smelly, humanoid species he has hunted on other worlds!

"Why throw your poll choices away so Shreklessly?"

"That's a question you should ask yourself, Drekatron!"

I mean, the first film was about Shrek rescuing Fiona from a tower with Donkey. Now here's the kicker. A tower? Rescuing? A damsel in distress? A hero and his sidekick?

Am I hearing the plot of the third act of Dark of the Moon?

I didn't really enjoy the Shrek movies OR the Transformers movies. So, they have that in common as well.
