I feel like the real world version rides just a little higher and has less of a squashed front feeling. Don't get me wrong, the differences are EXTREMELY subtle, but it's just enough to turn me off.

Personal opinion, for sure...your milage will certainly vary.

    Pretty much this.

I've got one pre-ordered, but for that price? I doubt it gets opened. This one is pure nostalgia, though, so Im sure it sells out and doubles in price overnight.

Sorry, the odds of this getting discounted are low. Mostly because of the Pandemic shipping/manufacturing delays/problems.

Exclusives like this definitely make me feel like quitting the hobby, Hasbro. They're getting too expensive to actually enjoy.

To be fair to Hasbro, though, these things sell out at stupid high prices. Thanks, "fans" & scalpers! :mad

The differences are too subtle for me to notice, but I totally get where you're coming from. You see this figure that everybody loves, but there are just these little things that bug the hell out of you, but not anyone else. That is the curse of the Transformer collector.

This isn't an exclusive, Amazon just has an early access window. Both pulse and bbts have it listed as coming soon

Yep. Believe me, as a HUGE Jurassic Park fan in general, and a dinosaur fanatic in particular, I desperately wanted to like this set. I just know that I wouldn't be happy with it, though.

There is a very noticeable difference between the screen-used Ford Explorer and the one you attached a photo of.

The photo you attached has an unmodified roof, so the profile of the vehicle is different.

    images - 2021-09-12T143647.816.jpeg

The screen-used vehicles, Vehicle #04 and #05, both have a custom made plexiglass sightseeing window ("spared no expense") that I assume is cost-prohibitive to have fabricated for your own Ford Explorer fan-recreation.

I don't really mind either way, it's not my job to convince you, but it sounds like you want the toy to be less screen-accurate and more like the closest you can make while still being street-legal.

Man, I'm not sure what to think of this one. After seeing the review, I'm kind of meh on the whole deal.

I don't know what I was expecting but this ain't it.

The pic I posted was from an article on what happened to vehicles from various franchises. The pic you posted from the film shows vehicles with same lines as my post, just as different from JP93. I see the same deviation from the toy to your post as I did to mine.

It has nothing to do with your baseless, incorrect, and quite frankly bizarre assumption that I'm trying to make myself feel better about something I drive.

Okay, we'll have to agree to disagree, which you anticipated in your earlier post.
Wherever the subtle differences are I'm just not seeing them.

That's fair, I'm sorry I jumped to that conclusion. I thought you were presenting the photo from the article as your example of what JP92 should look like, down to the small details.

    I'm sorry for doing that.

Yeah, like I said before I know not everybody will be bothered by or even see what I do. Like Morpheus said: "My beliefs do not require them to" :lol

Here's a rough of what I see. Taken from the toy and a real-life '93 explorer (without the roof mod, but most of my issues aren't with the roof shape anyhow). If anything, I think if the real vehicle had tje molded roof it would make the difference even more obvious. I know it's not perfect, but it gets the point across in general:
    jp-compare.jpg

Full disclosure, the JP93 side pics have a slight angle so the outline is a close approximation but may not be 100% accurate.

I'm certainly not trying to change anybody's mind...far from it. I envy those that still like it because I really wanted to, lol. Like I said, the differences aren't huge, but just enough to turn me, personally, off.

No worries. It's all good :)

Overlap the 2 colored outlines for us please, so we all can see the exact problem you are seeing... other than the front section being lower in height, most other aspects don't seem to be that obvious in a toy this small?

It's close, and the differences are even more subtle when overlapped. It's absolutely, 100% a "me" thing, lol. It's just enough that I feel uncomfortable about buying it *shrug*

Yeah, that's what I was seeing too... if the front was beefier, it would look like my old 95' explorer, but it might have a waaaaaay bigger chest in bot mode. :thumb

As with anything, it's all subjective. So, don't worry about it. I think what also messes up people, imho, is that the wheels seems to be smaller.
