just a thought..dunno if this was posted before..if so my apologies for not backreading.

if the junkions can fix, mend, repair..and totally assemble a dismembered (non-functioning) magnus in the movie, can they also fix a dead optimus? or any deads autobots like ironhide? prowl, etc in the movie.

It only works on bots from the 1986 lineup.

No, reason... Prime , Prowl and Ironhide were dead

Ultra Magnus was not dead he was just blown to parts...... and we have seen many times that being blown to parts is not death for a Transformer

The original/early drafts script(s) for the movie was shockingly violent at times, going into surprising detail as to what happens and lends some clues as to why only Magnus "comes back". Originally Magnus was to be drawn and quartered by the Sweeps, which isn't that bad in terms of Transformers catastrophes, his "software" would be largely intact, he's just limbless.

Prowl has his insides melted and the smoke emitting from him is his internal circuits, now vapor leaking out of his shell of a body. Ironhide and Ratchet were to have been hit by a blast that fused the two of them together, then shattered them apart. When what's left of Ironhide crawls up to Megatron, Megatron vaporizes what's left of him with his cannon. The Battle for Autobot City is full of descriptions (and a few unseen sequences) that had Autobots meeting horrific fates like that; Red Alert is melted by one of the Constructicons, etc.

Junkion Glue is more for structural physical damage, which was Magnus' entire problem. His body was intact and so was his internals.

While the script may have changed, the base ideas didn't, and we got what we got. The others didn't come back because there wasn't enough of them to bring back. (and there were new toys, always fatal to old ones!)

Pretty sure the goop the junkions smear on Magnus is either polish or superglue.

I always assumed the stuff was wax/polish, or some "as seen on TV" miracle glop that clears up scratches and fills cracks.

Of course the Junkions seem built to come apart and pull themselves together with ease, so theyre probably experts at reassembling bots.

I pretty sure the Junkions applied Future Floor Polish on Ultra Magnus. That's why Ultra Magnus fell to pieces all his ball joints were super loose.

I agree with those saying the fluid is just a coat of wax/polish. The Junkions already fixed him when they stuck him back together. They're just shining him up with a protective coat.

I think that the Junkions would've definitely been capable of repairing the damage that Optimus took in City of Steel. But in Return of Optimus Prime, Wreck Gar made it pretty obvious, at least to me, that they weren't capable of reviving the dead.

    Agreed

If the movie was made today, they'd probably say that it was a liquid metal compound composed of tiny nanobots which specialise in repair.
