Anyone remember Joshua getting upset that his creation kept looking like Megatron when he wanted it to look like Optimus Prime? Was this a Nemesis Prime nod?

Yeah, some other threads have said this film definitely seemed to have nods to Animated and Prime cartoons.

I honestly think michael bay and ehren Krueger were just like "we're out of ideas" and hasbro was like "bros check this out it might help" and gave them animated and prime to watch for inspiration.

I couldn't help but think Cookie Monster when I first saw the, in the tv spot.

Though their hinged mouths that screamed "bloody murder" in the film definitely made them a little scarier.
