No. Hasbro thought Erector was funny the first time, but asked to not do it again.

 

Before entering this thread I was dead-set on voting Rattrap, but Minerva and Sky-Byte are both fantastic alternatives and now I am unsure.

 

After looking up Minerva, she's a human that is a headmaster partner to a non-living transformer body right? I don't know, maybe if I'd watched Masterforce I'd like her.

 

I'm going to wait for whatever bandwagon looks like is having those most fun and then jump on it.

If we want to go for a 'first female'-type choice, maybe we should also consider Nightbird as the first female robot to make an appearance in G1? Or maybe Elita-One deserves some recognition as the leader of the female Autobots since she's been neglected in favour of Arcee for many years now.

I was planning on supporting Black Convoy/RiD Scourge for 2012 tho'.

well first off ... where was Elita-1 when OP croaked? Acree was there ...

when looking up Elita-1 ... she hasnt been very favored ... her history IMO kinda sucks.

Arcee's history is worth more to write home about ... again IMO

 

So being the only one capable of combining Jetfire and Optimus, so Optimus can then fight The Fallen isn't a stand out moment to you? Jolt practically saved the world doing that if you look at it, Optimus just did the dirty work and took all the credit.

I know its not erally something serious to begin with considering its a hall of fame for fictional characters, but Hasbro treats it seriously and I think we shoudl respect them and what they do for the fandom by taking it seriously as well. But after last year its hard for me to take it seriously as well, I'm pretty sure everyone is expecting Erector Pt. II, but with a different character like Scourge or Sky-Byte or something.

 

If any Arcee is in the HOF, it should be the Prime version

Some good reasoning here, though a major part of my reasoning for Minerva was she was the first female transformer to get a mass-release toy (even if it never made it to this side of the Pacific). Nightbird wasn't really a Transformer (unless you count the TFcon exclusive toy from last year), and while I think Arcee has a great history, and to a sadly lesser extent, Elita-1, I think their time will come, and really want the HOF to be a memorial to ALL the great moments in Transformers history, not just G1, Beast Wars, and the Bayverse. Having Minerva inducted fills a lot of holes in terms of the timeline of the fiction, the gimmicks in the toys, female characters, etc, and she's a great representative of a lot of these different areas.
