It is the same question like what happen with Sideswipe after DotM, with Strafe after AoE.

Well, in Bayverse, it does not matter.

But...Unicron is one of the most important in Transformers world. Even the after credit scene in TF5 teased us with Unicron

He actually kind of isn't anymore, given he's been overplayed and overexposed as of late thanks to Transformers Prime. Hasbro's big thing is the Thirteen so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the movies drop the Unicron plot like a dead body and suddenly start talking about human civilization was founded by the Thirteen somehow.

Because you know who the last member of the Thirteen is? OPTIMUS PRIME.

You are trying to compare animated movie with live action movie, that does not work.

    What about those Disney remakes?
    Cinderella?
    Jungle Book?
    Beauty and the Beast?

What about Ghost In The Shell?:p

As you mentioned, these are remakes.

    Bayformers are not remakes.

No, I am comparing continuities. You made it seem like characters disappearing was a bad thing about the movies yet more characters just vanished between seasons 2 and 3 of G1.

But in animated series, it was just because to sell new toys, old ones need to clear the path for new ones.

In movies, robots are not so important, at least in mind of Bay.

So Hasbro doesn't use the movies to sell new toys?

I'm sorry, but how did TFP "overplayed and overexposed" Unicron when he was only in two episodes and one movie and was treated better than he was in G1 excluding the movie? If anything TFP redeemed him after the last two parts of the Unicron trilogy.

Because Prime made the "Earth = Unicron" bullshit that basically ruined the character. Think about it - in order for Unicron to actually transform into his true, planet-sized form, then Earth would be fucked and so would everything on it.

Since when have the films ever actually put all of humanity in direct instant extinction mode like that? Oh, sure, the Decepticons blow up a fucking city now and again, but even the bullshit with dragging bits of Cybertron (which should have killed all humanity) in The Last Failure didn't do it. It means Unicron's a giant hyped up nothing whose true potential will never be realized so long as he's the big fucking blue ball humans live on. He doesn't even eat planets which was supposed to be his big gimmick as a threat - which he DID do in G1!

Not in the good way I think, a lot of characters never got the toy, or their design is so stupid, Daytrader and Brains, to make it even possible.

It doesn't matter if you think it's good. It's the same motive for Hasbro. Sell toys.

    Technically speaking it still is.

Most iterations of Transformers are about two factions at conflict and have robots that transform.

Also Ghost In The Shell isn't just the 1995 film. You've got the SAC anime and the original manga for instance.

EDIT: I don't want to see Unicron eating planets because I frankly feel fatigued from the 'world is gonna end' feeling (Star Wars ruined it also for me). Also questioning real world logic is kind of a red flag to any movie that is trying to be entertainment. Think about Star Wars, I don't think you're supposed to hear anything in space. What about superhero movies? Spider-Man generally speaking should have died from all his web-swinging.

In my opinion, I'd like it if Unicron was like a demonic presence that has awakened and spread chaos simply by targeting Transformer hosts. Although if preferable, maybe Unicron could be some other character so that some of us won't need to rage about his portrayal as a planet. Honestly speaking, out of the all things TLK did wrong, Unicron being Earth as bad as that sounds is one thing I took away.

I will reiterate. What if he was the reason why The Fallen wants to destroy Earth? What if Sentinel's plan to extract Earth's resources involved taking his life force like Quintessa?

Some of the movie physics is enough to drive you crazy.

Even if you can say okay the Force, magic swords, and all that you still can't get around that in The Force Awakens light breaks all the rules of light. Lets say that the super weapon of the New Order travels at near light speed. It would still take years for the light of that weapon firing to reach the other planets. Our next star over is 4.24 light years away so if something evil blew up Proxima Centauri we wouldn't see the results for over 4 years.

The Hulk has mass shifting because the weight and height of Banner and Hulk are so different.

The Earth having the crust and Unicron underneath really pushes even a vivid imagination if you were awake in elementary school for the lesson on the layers of the Earth. Exactly how do you have the mantle for volcanic activity and for the plates to ride upon if just under the dirt, water, and rocks it's Unicron? How exactly is Unicron exerting the sort of heat and magnetic activity the Earth needs to keep from being like Mars? It just seems like if you are going to have Unicron as your core you need a geographically inert ball of rock or gas in space.

It wouldn't be the first time the TF franchise has resurrected fan faves.
