Joe Madureira has come back from video games to work in comics for Marvel. He'll be working with now exclusive Jeph Loeb on an undisclosed book. Its nice to see him back too. Although I hope Marvel's got him working now kinda like DC did with Jim Lee. He may have been regular while working on X-Men in the 90's, but Battle Chasers was infamous for its lateness, and insanely misproportioned women.

YEAH! I miss that series. And I hope Marvel puts some kind of crack down on him. But all high profile Marvel books seem to have a 'finish it whenever' policy.

Yeah, like I said on two other boards, this deal would work best if the Mad/Loeb project comes out on time. If it ends up like that "Evil that Men Do" series this news wouldn't mean much.

Sweet, I always loved Madureira's art. It'll be nice to see him doing work for comics again.

I never read Battle Chasers, but for its fans I hope this means he'll get back to it.

First Pat Lee and now Joe Madureira, are Marvel deliberatly re-employing artists who couldent draw a decent human to save thier lives?

ONE insanely misproportionate woman. I'm looking at YOU Red Monika.

Anyway. You know; Joe Maduerias stuff has soul. Its different from Pat Lee whos humans look like they where made of wrinkled cardboard or *shrug* Rob Liefeld who isn't even trying.

I adore his X-Men run and the Onslaught aftermath story (mutant breakfast; Iceman is the man) and Sam Guthrie's X-mass shopping ordeal stands as two of the best X-Men moments I've ever had.

Too bad his video game projects went down the crapper of development hell. But I'm glad he's back into comics. =)

The promo image show when his return whas announced contained the Hulk, Wolverine and Spider-Man. They said the undisclosed project had something to do with one of those characters. I have my fingers crossed for that it ISN'T anouther Wolverine mini series. Though I wouldn't mind something like "Wolverine: Mutant Roadtrip" or something XD. The X-Men are the best out of costume.

I remember this guy. Whatever happened to his videogame stuff he was doing? Bettlechasers looked cool but I never picked it up. And it wasn't ever finished. Hope he can finish it so that way I can pick up a TPB later on.
And why is it that publishers tolerate insane tardiness? Did Kevin Smith ever finish spiderman/black cat mini.

I think most comicbook artists need to take a lesson from Fred Perry. The guy writes, draws, inks, letters, and colors all of his comics. He has one monthly comic, a yearly graphic novel, has done two OVAs, is preparing to start a third sometime next year, and still manages to do free artwork for two sites he has on a semi-regular basis. I have no idea how he can do so much and NEVER be behind on his monthly. Everyone jokes about him being a robot or something. He's definately one of the hardest working guys in comics today.

Nah, he still has what it takes. Just take a look at the not all that long ago Street fighter back up story he did in the first issue. Beautiful artwork.

In regards to his videogame work, I think the company he started Tri-luner (or whatever it's called) went under . Also he did conceptual/design? artwork for Ncsoft.

Also Kevin Smith recently handed in all his scripts for Black Cat Spider-man.

Since I barely read his work (only some Battle Chasers, one issue of X-Men) I checked out his old stuff recently.

Nope, it's just about the same as his old Marvel work. And strangely enough I thought it looked all right. I'd probably have to look at it some more for any other changes, though.

Joe Mad has always been an influence on me. I know proportionaly his stuff is off, but his books are always very fun. Anybody ever see his optimus prime? Cool stuff. I would not even put him and Pat Lee in the same category because with MAD you can tell the characters apart unlike with Lee.
