Before getting into detail, I'll put it this way: all super-heroine catfight episode! There, I said it. It's a Huntress / Black Canary centric episode. Black Canary is getting run down, so Huntress investigates and finds out she's being controlled by Roulette and Sonar. Roulette's new scheme is a "Metabrawl Glamour Bout", in other words, she's controlling the female heroes and forcing them to fight each other, using the JLU earpieces. Huntress manages to break Roulette's hold on Canary, but then they have to fight a match against Vixen and Hawkgirl. Of course, they manage to snap those two out of it as well, but Roulette, being Roulette, saved the best for last... Pretty entertaining episode, all in all. Great fights, especially the last one, which goes on for nearly half the episode. Some neat cameos as well - the episode takes place in Bludhaven, so you (briefly) catch a glimpse of a certain ex-sidekick. Too bad he stuck to the shadows, though. The Question also gets a short, but very good scene, and two of the best lines in the episode. "Hmm, so, there are 32 flavours" (while peering into a drum of ice cream) The end credits have me looking forward to what I assume must be the season finale. Believe me, it just might top last season's ending. There's a whole legion of guest stars, by the looks of it.
The way they ended last season with "Epilogue" made me believe that was the fianl episode of JLU, though I heard it did get another season afterward, it's still hard to see them ending it now, especially with all the big things going on in DC (Crisis, Superman Returns, etc)
It's not as huge as some of you may be thinking. To set the scene: We follow Black Canary riding her motorcycle, and she passes a sign that reads "Welcome to Bludhaven". We then pan across a rooftop where there are several shadowy gargoyles on the ledge. However, one of these "gargoyles" can move, and it has a mullet... As for my $0.02 on the episode, I wasn't a huge fan, it was mostly fighting, with only a thin story to justify all the fighting. It was good to see Brainiac again though, we haven't heard from him in awhile, and the Question is just gold whenever he's onscreen
Still in the past few episodes we've had Speedy AND Nightwing.... What if the "most unexpected team-up" is The JLU and the Titans?
A Titans appearance would rock, but unfortunately there's still the dreaded Bat-Embargo that would prevent Nightwing from making a full appearance. (His appearance in this ep is VERY subtle, I myself missed it completely until someone on another messageboard pointed it out.)
Not true. There are property problems with them using certain characters. Take Aquaman and Black Manta for example. They can't use Aquaman anymore. They had to rename Black Manta "Devil Ray".
