Hmm, too large for me- what about the BeastFigure version? Is that also MP scale?
This is the beast figure version. The only other version is trans art's and theirs is PE's size i believe?
Sorry, meant TransArts version
Oh. Okay. Yeah. Wow.
This looks amazing.
That looks really amazing, they've done an excellent job! There looks to be a few differences from the show model, a few proportions and sculpt details but before I go comparing this to screen caps I just want to soak in how good this looks and just working off memory I'd say this looks very screen accurate.
Beautiful sculpt, not overly stylized faithful to the BW source i hope the QC and color is on point.
Love how this looks, delicious sculpted detail.
I really like this version for almost the exact the opposite reasons I adore PE's Mega Doragon.
It is so essentially faithful to the show version that I am kind of awed. The design so thoroughly and unrepentantly
keeps the TM2 weirdness. I will gladly pick one of these up as well.
Beautiful! And he is MP scaled! Or as close as we will probably get to it. This is the TM2 Megatron that I want. The sculpt does not appear slavishly screen-accurate to a fault, but is not too much of a departure as to feel like a stylized reimagining (á la Perfect Effect).
I'd have to take closer looks at the source material, but the detailed sculpting appears more prominent on this guy, which I like, whereas the CGI model may have smoothed out such details. This feels like a faithful representation of this version of the character. If the Beast Wars cartoon was re-mastered, this is how I imagine the update would look.
Now I just hope he is easily attainable and that his QC and paint apps are up to par with the sculpt.
I've been looking at the cgi model and comparing it to this and it really captures all the details from the show model. Then it adds things like the fur textures under the dragon neck and on the robot arm as well as additional or longer spikes here and there. The bot mode face is really close too the only difference I can see is in the nose.
There are only two things that bother me:
1) the nose is the wrong shape
2) (most importantly) the tail is not part of the head
Also I hope the wings won't end transparent in the final product.
Holy shit this is cool. This may compete with PE's for me, especially if it's well built.
I actually like this design change as it gives the head freedom of movement in robot mode. I like the original toy but that was one of two major gripes that I had with it when it came out, that the head was essentially unmovable because it was attached to the dragon tail. The other gripe I had was that the dragon neck could not hold a variety of poses.
Wow, looking good! At this price, I do hope the materials and paintwork will be up to par. A criticism I have is the transparent wings, but admittedly I don't know how else they could mimic the CGI wings.
Need size comparison pics.
Hate to say it but it looks way better than Perfect Effect
I Can’t wait wait to see a digibash! Hint hint
This looks great! The new feet are much better. Another set of joints at the dragon toes/claws would be nice, but it's not a necessity either.
There are a few things I don't like - the thighs are a bit skinny, the dragon chest/stomach could do with a bit more detail, and the design style looks to be a bit Chinese - rather than Western-style dragon with some of the detailing - but none of them are deal-breakers and the overall package looks amazing.
The only bit that really looks out of place is the extra bit in the mouth. I guess that's there as part of a missile-launch gimmick?
All in all, nice work JiangXing!
EDIT - I just looked it up and the stomach is cartoon-accurate. My mistake, sorry, and kudos again to JX.
Ok, so, if he's going to be 30 cm tall in robot mode, then he would be like this if compared to primal:
So maybe a bit too small for being perfectly MP sized (should be around 35 cm I suppose), but pretty big nontheless.
Oh, and a potential size comparison with MP Megatron:
Who are them?
Separate names with a comma.
