Hello! Here is a take on Windblade in different colors, meant to match Metroplex a bit more. Originally she was all white, but it looked a little off. So I kept jet mode black and tried to add some gray to her bot mode, changed her headgear color layout. This is just to help her balance. I really wanted to like this figure, but it is so hard to stand and pose and for all the great engineering in some parts, there are obvious shortcuts elsewhere. Like her feet on top of the jet. Still a cool figure, and hopefully we'll get a Masterpiece version in 30 years. Thanks for checking it out, let me know what you think.
As usual knock it out of the park with those colors. Looks great! Wow, that threw me for a loop for a second. Here we are, celebrating our toyline for being around for more than 30 years, and it hit me that it could be around for another 30. Will we celebrating these characters then? And what type of figures and engineering designs are we going to have?
if the sword was blue it'd really POP! looks great otherwise. any picks of it all in white? ive considered an all white version as a ceremonial version and am wondering how it would look.
Seeing this mold in differing colors is impressive. I really like your choices, as they almost change the entire mood and stance of the figure. Edit: Oh, and I love the Queensryche reference.
Concurred. She looks amazing, I love the contrast between the black and grey and the red accents. Stunning
That looks really nice, and thanks for getting that song stuck in my head. That hasn't happened since like 1995.
I've gotta ask. How'd you turn the windows orange? It's not a very thin wash of paint is it? If there's a way to recolor transparent plastic I've gotta know.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I think it will. The first thirty years are the hardest, lol. I don't have any pics. It was only a rough coat of paint before I changed my mind. I did a quick block-in of colors and didn't want the paint to set. Thanks, glad you noticed. Ah. Yes. Thanks for reminding me. So if the original transparent windows are light colored or neutral, you may be able to change the color with clear model paint. I believe this is Stoplight Red from testors. You usually can go darker, but each figure is different. It was easy to go yellow to red, but may be hard to go red to yellow, you dig? Yeah I agree. I may change that. I was trying to paint everything that wasn't painted originally.
Great job with the custom paint. Really looks great in both modes. Same here. Although I half-expected the jet mode to have their classic ax symbol on it somewhere.
