Figured it out. It is a KO, see below. So a Friend is having do a custom for him that involves two headmasters and he sent me a Japanese Kirk. Now looking at it I honestly cannot tell if it is a KO or the real deal. If it is a KO, it is very high quality. Either way my friend will get it back as i refuse to chop it up for the face. Even as a KO it would be a prize to own. I need your help to figure out if it is real or not. here are several pics in different lighting from different angles. Tell me is it real or fake?
The orange paint on the face sure looks old but someone with more experience with these will chime in.
If I'm not mistaken, this should have the copyright on there if its legit. The recent wave of KOs omit the trademark on these. To me, I think this is a fake....I remember reading that the leg rivets are mushroomed differently (clean on the originals, sloppy on the new), but I'm trying to find that comparison.
it does but i found the answer, see below funny but not helpful lol Your right, just now found this: http://www.tfu.info/1987/Cybertron/Kirk/vehiclemode.jpg it doesnt have the copyright. Mystery solved. Thank you!!!!!!!!
Well, this is was what I was meaning...I thought they did comparisons on all the headmasters, but they just did on these. I think though, that the riveting thing was common to all of them, and combine that with the copyright, and you should be able to tell easily. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/284420-reproduction-heads-comparison.html
As soon as I saw it I knew it to be fake due to the missing copyright info. I actually think that was really decent of the maker to do, that way people (who are in the know) won't get duped.
Yup, KO. I have the Shuffler KO and originals of the other 5, the KO quality is quite good. The copyright stamp (or lack thereof) is the only giveaway.
