Does anyone know where i can find an up to date reading+watching order list for all the cartoons, comics, shorts, textstories etc that make up Japanese G1 continuity ?
Hm, probably a more fitting question for the general forum, but I'll give it a shot. TFwiki has a list of everything in it, but I don't know where it all fits. Even with the help of the timeline, that's complex. TV series wise it's: (US G1 Show)-Headmasters-Masterforce-Victory-Zone, then (US Beast Wars)-Beast Wars II-Beast Wars Neo With related manga for each, which were made parallel so I think generally read at the same time or slightly after the cartoons (and can contradict them, to make things tricky). ^ This is the stuff that is straightforward. Then there's Car Robots, Robotmasters, Binaltech, and Kiss Players written and audio stuff, all side stories and such which fit within the timeframe of the original G1 show (In Car Robot's case, retconned to fit there), normally between season 2 and 3. Most before the movie, Kiss Players after. Watching/reading stuff this way, would probably be a very weird experience.
Hmmm, i was a bit overwhelmed with all the comics, text stories and sidematerial, but looking at it this way it seems more staightforward than i feared. Thanks ZeroiaSD I'm pretty sure it will be a strange experience I've never really followed Japanese G1but i'll probably be done with Marvel uk, G2 and alignment in a couple of months and been thinking of doing Japanese G1 chronologically after that.
Additionally the Binaltech story gets into alternate timelines and such... so it's pretty much, all the old Japanese stuff is pretty straightforward and easy, but the recent ones / ones that were slotted into the timeline get pretty weird.
Yeah and the UW comics and the LGex stories, they sort of fit in between stuff. Thats what will take some figuring out.
Yep, I'm just lumping it in with Beast Wars. And honestly it doesn't really have an effect in the Japanese continuity since their stuff was written without it in mind. So, 'there but skippable.'
