Well, the house has been emptied of everything. But even with the walls and the floors devoid of everything that once made that house a home, I could still see and hear a little girl laughing and singing, running around, screaming over Christmas presents she never expected, and a million other things. So ok, the house isn't really empty. Those memories will always be there, and also carried with me. And after 14 years in Texas, it's time to say farewell. When I showed up from Korea, still a fresh-faced young Soldier (relatively, lol) I never imagined I'd stay so long. And Lord yes, I did my share of bitching and moaning about everything there from the summer heat to the drivers to the Army and everything else in between. But I'll miss it all the same. As much as I never wanted to admit it, Texas became a part of me. So farewell to Texas. And finally, farewell to the US. Been a good run we've had, and I'll never forget the great opportunities I had and was afforded simply by the good luck if beung born here. But don't worry, I'll be back to visit and check up on you JazzHunter, I'm coming home!
Very well written, I can really feel your bittersweet emotions through your post and kind of got me a little choked up. Congratulations and best of luck with your new life and your new lady!
Good luck in Korea, mate. Although if it were me, I would have asked your bird to move to the Land of Opportunity.
Good luck man, to both of ye I believe he's going to Australia bud, based on previous posts by him and Jazz. He said he came from Korea and moved to the states.
A bit of clarification Yes, headed to Australia When I mentioned Korea, I had just completed a year of duty with 2nd Infantry Division, my first duty station in the military went from there to Fort Hood.
FT....wow, I know it must have been hard....hearing all those 'little voices' and such memories...14 years worth....but we know you have a new life, new love and new country waiting for you....and that you can't wait to open those doors...as it should be. Good luck and have fun...of course, we expect you to still be around. YOU BETTER BE!!
Let me be the first to say, we're glad to have you on our shores Fatal. Best of luck to you and JazzHunter
