Thats insane. I read that in an article on TF wiki. Like seriously, do they have to render different shots at the same time on different computers?

228 hours is a darn long time to render one frame. Thats insane stuff. Pretty awesome.

Sure it's awesome, but I wish the Driller was out and it's scenes done by Shockwave.

driller = waste of time, space and computers, damn... all that effort could have been put in more scenes with the new characters (or even keep Jolt and the sisters for the movie, I dunno..)

instead of the driller, which i thought was pretty pointless, they could have put in some more scenes like the fight that should have been at the beginning with optimus and shockwave

We could have gotten A LOT more Shockwave screentime without Driller.

theres a bunch of threads "celebrating" his pointlessness but this thread is more regarding to the amount of time and power it takes to animate this sorta thing.

I think if the driller wasn't there we would have an ending with more closure

Sorta wish they spent all that time and energy having more screen time for the less technically extensive robots instead of using it on something that barely showed up or did anything.

"Let's crash our computers for something that only uncovers a tip of a pyramid and dies later with a rail gun!"

That's one of the problems with the second and third movie, they focus on getting something really big but forget about fleshing out the smaller fights and robots more.

Didn't the Driller cause ILM's computers to crash? Or was that Devastator?

Either way, 228 hours just to render one frame is insane. I mean for one frame? I know the Driller was big and complicated but damn. No wonder post-production is the biggest phase of these movies.

It takes 228 hours to render one frame of the Driller, and Optimus takes it out in 30 seconds. LOL

I don't know, I personally liked the Driller, and wished it was used more, just like Shockwave.

What parts do you think those computers were using? Parts from AMD or Intel or Nvidia?
