It nearly killed my interest since they lost Pennywise's trustworthy, 'normal clown at first' aspect. It's a full blown horror creature all the time.

Oh, and there's Tim Curry's Pennywise at the end with all the clowns.

I don't want to write off this movie yet, but this trailer is made in a mere jump-scares style.

I really hope the actual movie will have scenes in which the audience will question if what any of the kids of the losers club saw, was just a hallucination / trick of fear on the mind - just before switching back to a shot in which
the kid finds himself flabbergasted at what he has just seen but is apparently not really there.

The movie won't be able to hold tension if it's just the clown jumping out, chasing them all the time.

If they make a movie about the game The Last Of Us, they should get that girl that plays Beverly to be Ellie.

Yeah, that's my only gripe with this thing so far. Curry's Pennywise was a clown you would see at a normal circus. Looks friendly & approachable. This new Pennywise looks like he's going to kill you from the moment he looks at you.

This pic sums it up perfectly:

There were a few jumpy moments in the trailer, but I actually think this one did a much better job of setting up atmosphere with its longer moments of silence before Pennywise appears. Honestly, even if the horror elements don't work in the movie (which I have a hard time imagining them not working considering how closely they appear to be following the source material), I still feel like I'm really going to be invested in the story of these kids forming a bond and taking on the world together... you know in addition to the most evil thing creature imaginable.

Did anyone catch the It Easter Egg in The Dark Tower Trailer . Its when Jake walks past a hand sticking out of the ground holding balloons and of to the side the sign reads Pennywise. Back on topic I tink going for the hard R rating was the right call as it looks like the film is rife with psychological tit for tat's.

I'll see it, besides even if its bad it won't be as bad as the original IT movie... Tim Curry was the only good thing to come out of that, otherwise it was complete garbage IMO.

I think the jump scares are more for the trailers than anything else. There are some hints that the horror in the actual film will be more subtle like it was depicted in the book. I am a little disappointed that we haven't seen any of It's other forms yet, but I'm still hoping that they are being saved for the film.

I'm wondering that since it takes place in the 80's, It will take on some forms of monsters that were popular then. In the books, Richie sees It as a werewolf and Ben sees him as a Mummy because they were movies they saw in the 50's. It would be cool if It took on a form like Freddy Kruger or an Alien from Aliens... although I don't know how the copyright on that kind of thing would work.

I'm looking forward to this. It does look like they're going to make Pennywise a more sinister threat instead of masking as a funny clown from the tv miniseries but I dig it.
