I'm on 6th grade, staying in the computer classroom after school hours playing a freeware Star Trek game for DOS because I do not have a computer of my own yet. My english isn't too great so I have little idea of what is going on, but that doesn't stop me from having fun. You?
For me, September of 1996 was a time for computer and video games. Duke Nukem 3D, Donkey Kong Land 2, Super Mario 64, Crusader: No Regret... fantastic fun.
Um...third grade in primary school. Probably playing with my G1 Defensor and Devastator boxset. One year before I got into Power Rangers. No playstation yet for me.
In French class, listening to my secondary 5 teacher complain about how quebecers have lower grades than it's ethnic counterpart. Little did he know, I needed to learn French to actually take over their jobs and land.
I'd just got out of hospital after nearly dieing from pneumonia - i'll be going back in in a few months before I properly beat it.
I just got in 10th grade and am playing the whole afternoon Duke Nukem 3D and Quake. And I ripped my first CDs to MP3, the initial ones we're .wav files encoded in mp3, but soon I could create real .mp3 files. Would I have known that 10 years later I would not be able to read the discs of mp3s I burned... I would have not wasted so much time on this
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... literally. I was three years out of high school, bumming off of my parents' generosity. They let me live at home, rent-free, as long as I either had a job or was going to college. I opted for the job, part-time at the local public library, doing as little actual work as I could possibly get away with. Wasn't into Beast Wars yet, so I was heavily into Star Trek. Deep Space Nine was in its fourth-fifth season and really getting good, Voyager was in its second-third season, and toward the end of the year First Contact was in theaters. So times were good because I had little responsibility and loads of free time. They were bad because I had few prospects and nothing worthwhile to live for. Thankfully time marches on. Love to have some of that free time back, but that directionless attitude nearly killed me.
Summer of 1996 I was at a Archelology camp helping catologe native american artifacts and was about to start the 9th grade. Also watching Dragonheart LOL.
It's Sept. 96? Ok let's see, I just started 7th grade. I'm in a new school, I am really popular with the boys, I don't understand why yet. The boys in my old school used to beat me up but here they fight over me! I found some kittens in the garage, my mom said I can keep one. Me and my friends by accidentally killed some of the others. I like watching Rugrats and Rocko on Nickolodeon. But my favorite thing to watch is Discovery channel. We didn't have internet, we had a big apple computer at school though and in a few months I'll hear from my friend at school about these movies called "Star Wars". And soon I'll find this show called Beast Wars, though it will be quite a while until someone tells me they are part of a bigger franchise called Transformers.
