Okay so I recently picked up an Omega Sentinel for a decent price. He has been one of those elusive grail pieces of mine for quite some time. We all know when you have something you've been wanting for ages you want the most pristine quality. When I got him everything seemed absolutely perfect except for one thing... His crane arm was a bit... mushy. It didn't click in and sit completely flush like my Energon and Superlink Omega Supreme. My temporary solution is one of those clear rubber bands many toys come packed with. I've included a pictures of how it looks with and without the band. So I guess I have three questions here... One specific and two more broad. The specific question being is there a way fix this... Mushiness ( if that's not a word it is now lol ) ? The more broad questions being am I being too critical and overly picky? If you guys get a piece for your collection that you have wanted for a long time and there is a small issue with it, what do you do? Buy another one or just live with it? I look forward to some input here.
I don't have the mold, but the first thing that springs to midn is that there may be residue plastic or something else thats keeping it from sitting flush. If you can find and shave/take care of it it should sit flush. More pics would be appreciative. As for the pickiness, I think a lot of us are all that way with every figure. When it comes to your grail you want it to be perfect, you've essentially got that thinf at the top of your want list for a long time. So when ypu finally get that perfect something and theres something off with it it's normal to be upset.
Normal every verson of that mold i have ever had has that issue its normal. 3 Omegasurpreme and 1 sentenial, i got give 2 that had no heads...
Once I learned of its existence, Grand Maximus was my holy grail. I managed to get one in 2001 for just $450. I got him a few months before my wedding because I knew it was never going to happen after I got married. It's still nice and white and is all stickered up using a stickersheet from Encore Fortress Maximus. But he has 2 flaws. - His jail door has one peg breaking off. The previous owner drilled a tiny hole through the center and put a thin metal pin through to help reinforce it. - One of the tabs that holds one of his tower halves in place in robot mode snapped. But the one remaining tab holds the tower in place just fine. Given the rarity and price of Grand Maximus, I'll deal with those flaws.
Thanks guys. I still do hope in the future to get one or two more of these guys. I think a small army these would make a killer display.
