Good point. But if Megatron is not the lead villain, and this isn't Unicron then that leaves the Quintessons (also not a Decepticon) and our Dragon friend. Which I was already kind of thinking. But if it is the Dragon I'd hope he'd technically be called one of the traditional beast sub-teams (Predacon, Terrorcon).

So true, most likely he is referring to the Dragon... but at the same time when he alludes to the much higher stakes made me think of Unicron.

Then again could be Liege Maximo as others suggested. He'd satisfy both the 'new Prime introduced' and 'different kind of Decepticon'.

And actually if they did go the Liege Maximo route might be a way to rectify some of the anti-climactic bad taste the Fallen left in our collective mouths in the second film by showing these original Primes were really, really powerful.

I dunno, just so many possibilities. But i love when I get this excited about this stuff. Makes me feel like a kid again.

We have all seen Optimus attack bee, I think that's our surprise villain.

I'm not saying its definitely him. Was just explaining why people feel it is him. Personally looking into things i have a different theory.

True, there are a few variations.

I have seen he trailer several times, even on the big screen (TV) as my cabel company has it so we can see Youtube on TV. I don't see any "nomming", only that the planet parks next to the moon.
Though the other stuff does hint at Unicron, coincidentally or not. :)

Agreed, I think more that it's Quintessa, considered it's as messed up as that planet from the 86 movie.

    Understood. :)

Just read the article, and yeah, I don't think the villain this movie is Unicron, simply because it's too early. And that he's not a Decepticon. But this movie could build up to him, who knows. Anyway, as you say; It could indeed be Liege Maximo. :)

I'm going to put it as possible. The movies are drawing from all over the Transformers mythology so there is no reason to say that they would not pull ideas from Transformers Prime. They have also established in the movie universe that the Transformers lost much of their history so the Transformers would not know where a dormant Unicron was sleeping one off at. And well we didn't come along until way after a rock covered Unicron.

Sure from a science point of view it's totally ridiculous but movies like playing with the impossible.

I'm not sure but Josh Duhamel said that his team discovers some anomalies at the bottom of the ocean and they are of cybertronian origin (unsurprisingly). So my guess is that it is either that sunken ship or the entrance to Earth's cyber-core.

    I'd rather they didn't.

I've never liked that idea and I never will.

Yeah a surprise, meaning we'll have to watch the movie to find out.
Sentinel Prime wasn't shown backstabbing Optimus for the TF3 trailer.

True, looking more at it, I'm considering the potential that it may actually be trying to cyber-form the Moon. Latching on then cyber-forming.

As much as I was intrigued by Prime's interpretation, I just want badly to see Unicron in his full robot form, even it it won't be for another film or so. I just feels like a big bittersweet tease to have unicron but not entirely.

tonyformers had mentioned that this isn't earth. There is some space-faring human travel going on. Expect Bay to take a page or two from Nolan's Interstellar.

Everyone has missed my point here....what if this film swaps the transformers prime mythos and primus is earth and that is some depiction of unicron....or even a pre unicron, or a possessed unicron. Looking for the all spark.

Can't wait to see what's what within this universe

I'm pretty sure that EARTH IS NOT UNICRON. That "horn" you saw is just a part of a ship. And it is also too small to be Unicron's horn. Either that planet eating thing is Unicron, Unicron has some connection with Optimus attacking Bumblebee, or he has no ties with TF5.

I agree. Even though it was a fascinating twist in TFP, the fact that he was Earth/Earth formed around him made it impossible for the show to show him transform from planetmode and/or attacking other planets in his planetmode.
    So yeah, it was bittersweet.

I thought unicorn as earths core was a neat idea, but i don't want to see it in the movies, purely because Prime has already done!

I won't start believing Unicron's even in this movie until at least one of the following happens:
    • the name Unicron is said aloud in a trailer or mentioned on toy box descriptions
    • we actually get a Unicron toy
    • the planet-thing transforms into a massive robot
    • the planet-thing actually devours the moon or some other planet, instead of just looking like it might be about to eat something
    • we clearly see the planet-thing turn Optimus evil

I agree. :)  I still think the planet-thing is Quintessa, considered the Quints has been confirmed and that it's slightly organic.
