Today I found this on gizmodo.com:

    Bling-Bling fantachrome paint

    the product page is here

This might be the answer to all our chrome fading problems!!

Now if I only had the time and workspace I would start chroming TF in a second. Repro-luckydraws, all new chrome for BW transmetals, shiny chrome on restored G1's. Possibilities could be endless.

    *edit*
    I found some more! Mirrachrome
    made for car parts.

Just hope it doesn't melt the plastic. Some of those more heavy duty spray paints have a tendency to do that, especially if you're heavy-handed with it.

Also...75 bucks for 4 ounces of paint? No thank you. Cool find, though. I'll stick with my Bare Metal Foil and gum wrappers, thanks.

lol, I remember that car, I showed pics to my friends showing them that it wasn't illegal to have a full chrome car...although it would be a pain to clean it and I'm still not really sure if it is illegal or not.

sadly, If I was rich enough to spend that much on one can of spray paint I might as well get the whole toy recast into steel it self...

I used to know of a place where you could buy a vacuumizing tank and do moderately sized pieces in chrome, but I've lost the site since the last time I changed my screenname, only cost about $150

I haven't used it, but I've seen someone on a R/C forum who did and it turned out pretty close to what they show on the site. I've been wanting to pick some up. I'm not sure if this stuff will need a coat of black enamel paint underneath for it to work or not. I know Alclad II chrome needs a coat of black enamel paint underneath.
