Uhhh, wha? You slightly confused me. The hell's a Jafcon? And what's wrong with it's price now?

The TF in the auction you linked to is a knock-off; the grey at the top of the window is a dead giveaway.
Jafcon Convoy, on the other hand, is an official black repaint of Convoy, which was a convention exclusive in Japan; it's more than a tad expensive.

I believe he was saying that the price of that all-black knockoff Prime was very good.

...and I agree. If I wanted a black Optimus Prime, I'd spill for that knockoff instead of getting the Jafcon Prime.

Holy freakin' crap that Jafcon thing is expensive!

Which grey at the top of the window?

The grey he is referring to is the grey cardboard cut-out that can be seen in the "window" that looks in on Optimus Prime. If you compare it to the jafcon version, you'll see that the jafcon version doesn't have any gray in the window.

...although, honestly, I give less than half a crap about a cardboard insert. To me, it's a black prime and it looks cool. I'd get the K.o.

I'd think the very fact that the Jafcon comes in a Japanese box and the KO is in a copy of the original Hasbro G1 box is more of a dead giveaway than the grey border, but that's just me.

Some of y'all gotta remember though - Genuine vs. KO isn't as big an issue to everyone. In my opinion, if the knockoff is cheaper but of the same production quality, I don't see myself actually being ripped off, provided my interest in the toy is to actually open it up and display it.

For someone going for in-the-box authenticity, the Jafcon prime is truly a nice prize, but it's a non-issue for folks who just want to show off an evil Prime in their collection - that's what I'd figure, at least.

It's incredible how Black Convoy Style Primes become so popular. Go and get it!

But... I think it's a bit expensive for a KO.

I have both, I got the Jafcon relatively cheap when he first came out. He is MISB and I got him signed by Peter Cullen.

I got the KO to open, and used the Reprolabels kit. I also used a red Sharpie on his chest, and painted his eyes red. I want to detail the trailer someday.

I am going to sound stupid, but I didn't know they did a KO of Jafcon Prime.
Looks like they went all out with that.

I bought my jafcon prime years ago. I was blown away by how expensive he has gotten.

I always try to orginal over KO but some times the price out weighs the argument.

    Yeah the price is crazy.
I had got him and the 1st Prime reissue for 100 bucks together!

I had two once, but got rid of one, due to needing some cash.

It is a very awesome toy, and he came out at a time when the whole Nemesis Prime fad wasn't really much of a trend.

He's worth adding to your collection if you got the cash for him.

It's a shame the Toy Ark went away, because Choppa had some really nice shots of him.

I may have to take mine out to take some shots one of these days.
