I know COVID-19 plays a part but with no news like that writers striker for ROTF...Has this been the longest ever between films for news and production.?
Lets see 12 years in between The TF the movie and the Cricitcially acclaimed Beast wars 2nd film. 9 years in between the Beast wars 2nd film and the 07 film 2 year between 07 and ROTF 2 years between Rotf and Dotm 2 years between Dotm and Transformers Prime: Predacons Rising 1 year between Prime: Predacons rising and Aoe 3 years between Aoe and TLK 1 year between TLK and Bumblebee 4 years in between BB and the 2022 film. So, no weve waited longer.
Just from what I can remember on the top of my head, there were 3 years between DOTM and AOE. It's only been less than 2 years since BB.
If it comes out in 2022, it will be the longest time between any of the live-action films. But as long as they do a good job on it, that's not too terribly long to wait.
Eh the AoE - TLK gap still felt the longest imo. Especially since alot of things in the middle were either lackluster or just nothing. But that's not saying the payoff for waiting for TLK was good.
Yeah, come to think of it that gap felt pretty long. Although I think for me that was probably because a fair amount of change happened in my life between mid 2014 and mid 2017.
The gap between DOTM and AOE felt real long, but that's probably becausei legit thought DOTM was a good ending for the franchise, and when they announced a new one I remember thinking "why?" Until I looked at the box office numbers.... But yeah, that gap FELT the longest to me.
There's no guarantee the next movie comes out in 2022. Clearly, Paramount is having trouble figuring out what to do with the franchise. Plus the pandemic.
