Hi all, Is this Scourge a fake? I can't really tell. 1986 TRANSFORMERS SCOURGE G1 100 % COMPLETE BOXED on eBay (end time 28-Jul-10 16:53:51 BST) The price suggests it is lol
The product leaflet is the 1986 United Kingdom version........ which hasn't been 'knocked off' afaik. I'm thinking the box looks legit too...... but i may be rusty on that.
well, every pic I can find of the KO has a much brighter yellow 'explosion' on the box, and the the decals on the figure are red. I want to believe its original, and the catalogue certainly helps push me in that direction!
Did your KO Shockwave have the 1986 UK product catalog to which i referred in post number 2? (I also think) the Decepticon Logo on the KO Scourge is more reddish than that, and i think i can see some sticker wear on the blue stickers at the front... although that may be damage to the bubble. The box also doesn't seem as 'off' as what KOs i could find after a quick search. I'm leaning towards legit, but can't be sure.
Boy, looks real to me, based on that one picture. EDIT: Doesn't have a red Decepticon sticker, plus I see fading of the sun burst.
You are seeing the same things I am. For that price, I would pull the trigger if I lived in the UK. Of course I keep forgetting that's around $65 US. So not a steal, but not a horrible price.
That I'm not sure. But it looked to me like the USA version that we usually got back in the 80's with the other figures. Plus, my KO also had a rub-sign on it.
Good call! I'd say you did alright there. Even if is was a KO (which I don't think it was) you got it for about the going rate for the G1 KOs on eBay UK anyway!
My thoughts exactly. Wasn't a horrible price even for the KO version. Especially when you figure it would cost around $60 shipped to get the KO Scourge from KOToys.com
Yes I'm rather pleased! Scourge was my first ever TF as a kid so he has a lot of sentimental value. The seller claims that this is his from childhood- it looks so good because apparently he wasn't allowed to play with it lol
