Is this possibly a glimpse of an upcoming Needlenose figure?

I've been thinking of customising a Needlenose toy. I googled Needlenose images for inspiration and I came across images from a card game where Needlenose's alt mode looked like a Tetra Jet.

I also came across a fantastic custom made by Grimlockimus who's a member here from the Siege Seeker mold. I had considered using that mold due to the removable chest plus I love that mold.

The cards do seem to suggest that the mold has been considered for Needlenose, though obviously there's no evidence of an official release.

    What do you guys think?

Kind of old news. There were numerous discussions around this when that card art was first shown. The consensus seemed to be that Needlenose isn't a Tetrajet and deserves a new mold.

I haven't seen it before today. I'd have no problem with older characters remade as Seekers like Needlenose or Windsweeper.

Never been one for popular opinion. Centuries ago, everyone thought the world was flat. The crap that passes for popular music since X Factor started. Or that most people can't socialise or relax without alcohol and the popular opinion that smoking weed is socially acceptable these days.

I never thought of Needlenose as a bigger guy, but I wouldn't object to it. Especially if it uses the details in the card, so he looks a bit different from the other tetrajet seekers. He'll need his battle buddies, tho

    not likely for three reasons

A: the card game makers have said that they use their own designs for characters that don't have toys, i believe needlenose was one of those
B: of the siege vote participants (impactor/mirage, wheeljack/spinister, needlenose/tracks) 4 have come out and they've all been deluxe
C: its not his g1 design with articulation

if needlenose was to come out in wfc it is highly likely that he would be a deluxe and that he would match his g1 design but with added articulation

I think the tetrajet is too blunt a shape. I’d think Needlenose needs a...needle-er nose on an alt-mode?

Well, if vehicle scale mattered to Hasbro, most jets would be pretty big.

Needlenose has two toys. G1 and the Collector's Club repaint.

The following recent figures didn't match their G1 toy:

    Earthrise Ironworks
    Earthrise Airwave
    Titans Return Quake
    Siege Six Gun
    Reflector/Refractor
Crosshairs had his animation model head and smaller wheels.
Earthrise Starscream is practically an upscaled version of his Classics mold.

I love G1. I've been a fan since G1 but I don't expect Hasbro to slavishly follow G1 and in the above cases I'm glad they didn't. Truth be told, if some third party made a clip on visor to repurpose CHUG Voyager Stormcloud as Needlenose I'd be quite happy.

I hate how Hasbro insist on trying to make most characters deluxes because most of them looked the same height in the terribly animated G1 cartoon.

The Baymovies and Animated show translated the vehicle scale to the robot modes which made the visuals and battles far more interesting.

ironworks mostly matches g1, but has an added bot mode
airwave mostly matches g1, but has an added bot mode
titans return quake was an opportunistic remold
    sixgun i'll give ya
refraktor matches the animation model and the 3 pack matches the toy minus individual heads
crosshairs was an opportunistic remold that was likely intended as a selects release prior to siege getting extended
starscream being based on his classics figure does not mean he also isnt based on his g1 iteration

Ironworks and Airwave don't match G1. They were the Micromasters not the bases. I know the ten pack gave us the Micromasters as repaints.

Airwave's deluxe robot looks more like Ironfist.

Quake and Crosshairs might have been opportunistic repaints but the fact is they weren't slavishly G1.

In your first post, one of your reasons denouncing Needlenose as a Tetra Jet was that it wasn't his G1 design with articulation.

Refractor wasn't based on an articulated version of his G1 toy.

My point is, not all of the figures I mentioned slavishly follow their G1 toy or animation designs.

The fact is, none of us will know for certain until an actual toy is produced. My title said "possibly a glimpse". I'm well aware artwork in different media doesn't guarantee a figure is coming.

The Legends Manga showed us Bludgeon based on Hardhead with Getaway's Titanmaster while Sureshot was a Full Tilt body with Quake'sTitanmaster.

CHUG Warpath's instructions showed a head design based on Hardhead.

It's a shame because I'd love those versions of Needlenose and Sureshot.

and i also said it wasnt likely, meaning there is a chance it could happen, i didnt speak in absolutes with my initial post, but you are also ignoring the fact that the card makers have said they made up designs for characters that didnt have recent toys to pull from, so its highly likely that needlenose was a made up design strictly for the card game. we havent seen him pop up anywhere else with that design.

If they did make him a seeker mold, I'll probably stick with the TFCC version.

You say that as I glance at my shelf of combiners that also holds most of my G1 season one and two Autobots.
