Is there a way to tell if a Masterpiece Takara Rodimus is V2 on the box?

Any way to check without opening the box?

 

i am also interested in this topic. i want a rodimus with trailer, but cant afford to make the mistake of buying the defective model.

 

There should be a date stamp (embossed)on the bottom of the box. The original said A0911 (for January 09, 2011) and the 2nd version says H2511 (for August 25, 2011).

I have a v1 that I purchased from amiami upon release and have had no problems with it at all after multiple transformations. Not all v1 are defective and I think the issue was blown out of proportion. If you want to save some money, you can find V1 at a great discount and even cheaper here on the junkion  

 

I had been requesting one for the last month and a half and no reasonable offers.

Finally ebay came through again.....
