Is the USPS massively delayed again for anyone else right now?

    Ebay:
I sold a jacket on eBay for about $100 mid August. It's been stuck at a Portland facility since the 20th. I opened a package research case the other day and haven't heard anything back yet. (To complicate things even more, that package is something the buyer purchased accidentally and intends to send back when it finally DOES arrive, so at this rate it'll be a whole nother month or more before it ever makes its way back to me.) Around the same time I also bought a pair of jeans on another website. The seller took them to her local post office in New York and it still hasn't even been scanned into the system yet, so I can't even open a case on that one. Has anyone else been having issues like this or am I just having bad luck? I know international shipping (especially from China) is pretty fucked right now but I haven't been seeing anything in the news about widespread USPS delays like last year.

The USPS has been hobbled by its powers that be. The people running it don't give a crap about it and it shows. (I'll leave it there, we needn't go any further. Google exists for the deets.)
Some locations are faring better than others, but some regions are still facing massive delays due to outbreaks/breakthrough infections/lack of vaccinations, some are impacted by weather (NY, in your case, just had a hurricane rip through it), and so on.

Express and Priority seem to carry on as usual. First Class and anything ground/economy seems to be hit hard. I bought an item for my son from Cali and it should've taken 3-5 days (per the new USPS rules) and it was actually 7. Not complaining, it wasn't really that important that it get here "tomorrow", just pointing out that oddities such as that happen all the time lately.

It also depends on location. I've had items take a day or two to get to my place from coastal regions, while items traveling IN my state have taken 2-7 days. In. The. Same. State. (ARGH!)

I don't think it's going to get better until everyone both behind the scenes and on the customer end of things gets used to the new normal. When that happens, it'll smooth out. Until then, we're still learning to cope.

Yea, things are still screwy over here. Priority still arrives in an acceptable time frame but First Class takes an eternity. And Media mail? Forget it. I hated it before but now it takes even longer to arrive.

I ordered a handful of items on Wednesday from eBay.

One was expected Tuesday, but arrived at the local post office this morning.

Will most likely go out for delivery today.

I find it is a matter of luck.

    Edit -

I did receive it yesterday afternoon.

You guys remember the entire east side of the country had a hurricane up its ass this week, right?

USPS stated right on their website that it was causing delays. Damn it I need my Greenoodles and miso powder that are stuck in Jersey! :p

    Ebay:
That would definitely explain some of it, but mine were both stuck for over a week before the hurricane, and one of them on the other side of the country. I actually found someone else on Reddit who I'm pretty sure has a package stuck at the same facility in Portland judging by the zip codes, although we can't know for sure since the tracking doesn't tell us specifically which facility it is -_-.

USPS is way behind in my area. I ordered 2 t-shirts from Amazon and both were delayed. One finally made it but the other, which still says it's arriving today, is somewhere in the ether.

Never have problems with USPS or UPS. FedEx however sucks ass. I order from BBTS. They are in Minnesota/Wisconsin area. I am south west tip of Indiana. Not too far away. They ship to Kentucky where it sits a few days, then to Georgia, again sits several days there, then to Mississippi again sits a few days before to local hub. Took 12-13 days for Wreck Gar to arrive.

Fuck UPS with something very big and sharp, Repeatedly.

I spent close to 4k on a computer monitor, gaming computer, desk, speakers, gaming chair, etc...

And i have no monitor.... because UPS shipped it out on the 30th and it's been sitting in Jacksonville, FL with no movement all week

I recently ordered Super 7 Ultimate Michelangelo from them.

Shipped out Friday via FedEx smart post.

I received it on Wednesday via FedEx ground.

    Not sure why it changed!?

All delivery services have been running pretty smoothly for me the past few months, honestly. The last time I recall things being really jacked up was around the first few months of the year.

I know what you mean about fedex. Lastweek l ordered some auto parks from Rockauto and Parts geek. The other day the FedEx driver delivered them to the wrong address and that makes the second time that has happened this year. I called FedEx to have them put a trace on my packages and yesterday they finally arrived. The driver admitted to me they were dropped off at the wrong address. Anyway l will never trust FedEx again.

sell on Ebay and have mailed over 1000 packages since last year
And since Cova I had about 4 packages arrive about 30 days late in the USA
But 4 packages is very low for me.

And I been using USPS since the late 90s and its been pretty good to me, maybe 4 lost and some late packages and some early.
Even during these times, the US mail is still great for me for mailing and receiving
no issues on my end and I'm in California

Update on my package, turns out the freight forwarder had it all along and it just didn't get scanned as 'delivered' by USPS because apparently they tend to not do that with freight forwarders. So I should be getting it back after all. Last time I'm working with a freight forwarder...

My package is supposed to be coming to Georgia. It started in Tennessee, Then when up to pittsburgh. Then over to New York. Then went back down to Kentucky. Now it's finally in Georgia. Hopefully I'll get it soon. Things have been a mess since they appointed the new guy to head the post office, he's been doing a lot of things he claimed were cost cutting, but seem to be just making service worse and worse.
