With rumors that the G1 Dinobot molds are lost, I figure about the only way to get a new G1 Grimlock without paying a fortune would be to get the KO version. I've heard that some of these have serious problems standing (Wheeljack and Swoop) but was wondering if any of you have bought the Grimlock and whether he's quality or not.

You DON'T have to pay a fortune to get the vintage version. Complete Grimlock could be purchased with around $50 on ebay, cheaper if you buy in lots or get lucky in BIN.
Unless you really want a fake box to go with it, I don't really see the point of getting the KO.

Agree with this. Unless you're buying to keep "MISB" (and really, why would you with a KNOCK-OFF) it's probably cheaper to go out and get yourself a loose/complete ORIGINAL. Honestly, I don't understand why people automatically assume the KO must be cheaper. It often isn't!

What they said. I've got Grims on the shelf, in great shape (not complete, mind you) for about $22 shipped. You just have to be willing to wait for someone who doesn't make their auction very appealling or take a risk on one that doesn't have great pics. I'd love to have those KOs, but I'm not paying about twice as much for a KO as I do for Takara encores.

and if you can't find a complete g1 grimlock for $50 then find an incomplete g2 *g1 colors* one... and buy some g1 parts... :lol

so in other words, NO :p
