Sam Witwicky never appeared in the films after Dark of the Moon, leading some to suggest that he died in between the events of DotM and AoE. So let's just go over the facts to see whether he really is dead or not.

We know that Cemetery Wind had no rules, no boundaries, didn't flinch torture, human trafficking and genocide, and that they traded dead Autobots and Decepticons for money. They had no problem with attempting to kill Cade and his daughter, and attempted to kill Joshua because he didn't agree with what they were doing. So we can assume they would have no problem ordering a hit on Sam. He was the biggest supporter of the Autobot cause and was essentially a micro celebrity post DotM. He was finally considered a hero for participating in battle and killed Dylan, allowing for the pillars to be destroyed. Because of Sam the military was now aware that the Autobots were back and that they needed to destroy the pillars to end the battle.

After NEST was shut down, we can assume Bumblebee stayed with Sam and Carly for a few years, before Optimus sent his message warning the Autobots to cease all contact with humans after the battle in Mexico City, and meet up somewhere safe. Bumblebee would then have to leave Sam and Carly and meet up with the other Autobots. We can assume that Sam probably had government support, since his encounter with Dylan at his penthouse would probably have Sam think he would need security so none of his family were hurt, and so would have security cameras/officers guard his home. He was also considered a war hero, so he would have support from his former NEST colleagues, such as Lennox and Epps.

If Cemetery Wind were to have a hit on Sam, it would have to be after Bumblebee left, because the anti Autobot campaign would've been in full effect around this time. If Sam wasn't in protection of the government anymore, he would've likely been turned in for "treason against humanity." Unless Cemetery Wind was able to pull a MLK on Sam, it's unknown what happened to him.

What's weird is that Optimus or Bumblebee never mention Sam. If they knew Sam died, they would've been mentioning him to Cade.

 

Yeah, he's dead according to TLK.

 

It is certainly implied so, but I don't think ever outright stated.

 

He's never actually stated to be part of the Witwiccans, so who knows.

 

Maybe not canonically dead but may as well be since I doubt we're ever gonna see him again.

Which is totally fine by me.

 

I still would love a future TF movie (set in the bayverse if they ever bring it back) where the antagonist is a masked human whose only sole motivation is to hunt down and destroy Bumblebee, and the big reveal at the end is that it's an older, bearded, unstable Sam Witwicky who wants to hurt Bee for leaving him for Mark Wahlberg.

 

Same here. From what I recall, there was some really bad blood between Shia and Bay&Co.- especially after they parted ways. . .

I mean if that's the case, they'd probably have to silence most of the people who ever came into contact with Sam too. And we know his army allies survived into TLK. So something is definitely up.

 

I can only assume his last words were "NONONONONONONO--"

He went into hiding between DOTM and TLK, he was found by Galvatron as a hobo crashed out on a beach, Galvatron scanned his brain with transformium, violently threw him into a abandoned pickup and kicked him into the ocean where he drowned.

 

Extremely likely he died. It is implied in TLK.

Even Michael Bay wouldn't write something as brutal as that.

Then Cemetary Wind mind wiped him and his family and relocated them. Then the ambush on the Autobots happens. Hell, Attinger offered Cade to surrender Optimus in exchange for living in peace on his farm, so maybe he's more or less lenient with Sam.
I dunno, I don't wanna imagine Sam dying. Though I'm not too upset with his departure. But I also don't think Sam would go without a fight. . .

 

what the Fuct of Pepsi-Man did I just read. Who's getting revenge on Sam for Megatron? Mohawk?

IMO because the board room of executives that put dead me-mes in the script of TLK, I believe Sam got infection with the same illness dead-end contracted and became a living cannibal living in woods after he ate his parents. longing for death Sam begging bumblebee to "just do it!". I assume bumblebee told Sam to look at the rabbits and put him down like ol yeller, maybe even playing the clip from the film adaption as he did it. movie Bumblebee and Sam vs Dead-end was the rivalry the characters had in the tie-in material. If you're not familiar, movieverse Dead-end was a decepticon basically inflicted with the transformer equivalent to rabies. it would be a perfectly tragic and horrifying ending to the duo's relationship.

 

Could we stop making that Shortpacked comic relevant please? It was an embarrassment in 2007 and one we should have worked past by now.
