    VW - 3 - bee, gremlin, critter
Cosmos - 3 - green, blue, green transparent
Datsun - 6 - prowl, SS, Diaclone, SS alt, Smoke, barricade
    Jazz - 7 - G1, G2, Black, Transparent, Shock, Shock Transparent, G1 Variant
Van - 6 - red, white, Red transparent, White Transparent, black, yellow
    Bugs - 3(3) - cartoon, toy, transparent

So they started dropping 3 of each, then upped it to 6 of each. When we start getting Lambos are we looking at Side, Alert, Side T, Alert T, Side G2, SS, SS T as well as Breakdown, Wildrider, Break T, Wild T, break G2, Wild G2, BG2T, WG2T = Lambo (slight retool) - 15 figures hahah

Seeker - 20 - 3 orginal, 3 cone, 3 rain, 9 transparent, mid warp sky warp, ghost starscreen

LoL, im not really complaining if it sounds that way, however, if they are pushing other releases to triple, quadruple, or more dip on a mold then.... i mean.. come on. I don't think every character needs a transparent version going forward haha

    Anyway thoughts?

I believe there were two takes on G1 Jazz, one original and more recently the EX version. So 7 uses, total.

I'm not into the repaints, but as long as they don't get in the way of releasing new molds -- and so far they haven't -- I've got no problem with them.

What you said. Let them sell 900 variants as long as it gets fans what they like if you ask me. I don't even collect these things and I want to see them do more just as a matter of seeing people enjoy a new thing that won't eat up all the shelf space or pocketbook.

It did but it was a very limited run. There is a yellow Transparent Bumblebee, and a purple transparent Cosmos.

Some of those variants are quite nice. I kinda want to own Hate Ya. But I'm not a legends scale collector, so 30 euro's for a figure of that size is a hurdle.

Awesome. I hope it works out for them.

I was very appreciative of the EX version (G1 toy deco) on this one.

I’m not a repaint guy, but they definitely hooked me into buying some that I normally wouldn’t buy, like the premium Jazz. They are masters of paint and finish, and I wish MS would take notes.

Yeah. That's my big issue with legends. I love them, but I feel weird spending $30+ on a figure smaller than a deluxe that isn't some super rare variant or exclusive. As a result, I'm a contributor to the whole MP sized toy problem. Still, I don't begrudge the Legends collectors. They're super cool toys.

I like it. I like repaints a lot, and this approach gives folks lots of choices for their preferred flavors.

I haven't gone completist on them. I'm skipping the transparent repaints, and I have yet to pull the trigger on the EX version of Jazz, the toon Insecticons, and the silver metallic version of Silverstreak (haven't decided whether I will yet). Even if I don't end up getting those myself, I'm glad they exist for people who want them.

And I loooove the fact that they're doing Diaclone and E-Hobby repaints. Frankly I wish they'd circle back to Flipper and release a few more in more color schemes... we could still use Glyph and some sort of Pre-TF Microchange-inspired color scheme like red or robin's egg blue.

I hope they keep it up, for all the various repaint channels.... Diaclone, G2, SG, etc.

Heck, I'd even be up for a few more ALT/BT-inspired figures, like they did with Shockwave. Like maybe a red Jazz and a blue-and-yellow Smokescreen?

The fact they love to do repaints coupled with the fact they’re going to release seekers makes me hopeful the release every damn fruit flavor imaginable. Hell, make up a few new ones for all I care. Yes I am a seeker whore. Sue me!
( you forgot to add welcoming committee btw)

But they’re just following what Takara/Diaclone does right? All of the repaints are of past characters so this shouldn’t be a surprise. There’s money left to be made with those molds so get it while you can.

I was being more selective with these, but I just went ahead and added Ratchet/Ironhide, and Streak/Smokescreen and the Barricade deco so I have most all of their standard offerings.

I was buying all the Magic Square offerings, but I might switch allegiances. I really wish they were in better scale with each other, but oh well.

The repaints and transparents aren't of any interest to me, because my interest is purely the G1 (cartoon where possible) originals (okay, and MTME/LL, but we're not seeing much of that yet).

But I think they are a great thing. They mean that there is a flourishing market with decent demand for this stuff, which means that I'm going to get all the toys I'm after. And lots of other people get the toys they are after :)  Win-win. And I'm not even buying New Age stuff (I prefer Magic Square) because of their size :p

Now is a very good time to be into legend scale Transformers.

It's ok, because they have released so many new molds this year already, unlike Magic Square.

I still got to buy silver streaks...
